Confirmed Signing Donny van de Beek

I’m talking world football though. If he’s as good as the OP suggests and he’s available looking for World Cup game time why are the only two clubs pushing mid table & relegation fight.

The same reason - for European leagues, I think there are a very small number of teams (possibly as small as 0) that would be willing to pay what United want and would see a benefit from paying it in terms of league position and have enough midfield problems that he would fix making him worth paying for and that he would want to go to. The problems we have are pretty atypical (as in with an attack that is ok, a defence which is ok but with a disaster area in midfield and in the technical area).

I mean, if you are a title or CL-qualifying chasing team in Italy, Germany, France or Spain then you probably have a functioning midfield already and spending the sort of money they are apparently asking is probably going to be spent better on other areas of the squad (on permanent deals or whatever). Everyone else doesn't have the money or the appeal (for the player or United), so I can understand why noone is in for someone who is talented but basically another body in midfield.

No idea on DVB so here’s my Everton/Palace combined X1

4-3-3

Pickford

Ward - Anderson - Mina - Mitchell

Gallagher - McArthur - Eze

Olise - DCL - Richarlison

Gray & Zaha the notable admissions, but both play LW and Olise is a left footed natural RW. That midfield 3 destroys ours for quality; you can swap Eze & Doucouré based on different match ups.

Hmmmm....
I’m not sold either, but he has more about him than Delph, Gomes and Gbamin.

It’s a big wage for a gamble though. I have this niggling feeling that we’re going to be inn a FFP black hole again this summer. But we have to do something to avoid relegation.

He's a much better athlete than Klaassen at least. Might just be that he's at the wrong place at the wrong time why he's not getting games, some players just don't function at certain clubs. On a loan deal I'd try him out.

I wont be too concerned if this one doesn't happen.

We need cover for Doucoure, specifically.

I must be blind but I just don’t see it at all. Slow, immobile attacking midfielder that will never work in our league. He’s also on a fat wedge so even if he was half decent I wouldn’t want on a perm. Him, Allan and Doucoure would be no better equipped than Gomes in there.

On the contrary that video you link shows why he is more equipped. He’s a box to box, athletic player. He’s better than Gomes by MILES. Can see a piss, plays instinctively and has a good first touch.

I don’t think he’ll be the second coming off alan Ball, but I can see what he could offer.

So Gallagher leaves Palace at the end of this season and they need a replacement beforehand for next season?
So they bring in Van De Beek on loan till the end of this season?

Yup, loan a player, evaluate the player on loan before spending 25m on him, hard for you to understand how it's not exactly the worst idea mate?

It’s low risk for me, he comes in and gets the game time he needs, does well, goes back to United a different player. If he doesn’t do well then we send him back without much damage in June

I generally expect a B2B player to have a teeny tiny bit of pace myself. He ain’t chasing anyone back.

This is untrue. How many of their players can come into our team? Probably about 3.

Pickford
Coleman Mina Godfrey Mykolenko
Doucouré Allan Gomes
Richarlison Calvert-Lewin Gray

Guaita
Ward Andersen Guéhi Mitchell
Gallagher Hughes Kouyaté
Ayew Edouard Zaha
About 7 of them. Our team is utter crap.

Why would you be watching Ajax? Translating Dutch chants? Forming an opinion off I presume one game whilst on holiday? Since Everton haven’t played Ajax.
You've asked a series of questions here as if all of those things aren't entirely possible.

Someone watching a game of football on holiday, chatting to locals about the game and thinking 'that fella looks good/crap' aren't unlikely.

All of those things happening usually don’t warrant a very strong opinion of a player though do they. Unless you judge a player off 90 minutes in which case you do you.

Even though he loses the ball more times than he does something with it, I've now convinced myself he's world class.
