So Gallagher leaves Palace at the end of this season and they need a replacement beforehand for next season?
So they bring in Van De Beek on loan till the end of this season?

Apparently he's with Bergkamps daughter, wouldn't be surprised to see Viera pulling on him to get him to go to Palace
 
Must have formally slipped off Utds "rival" list if they are sanctioning this.

Recently enough they wouldn't give us their 3rd choice keeper.

Not against this lad to be honest. Yep he don't move so fast, but neither did Barry.
Stick him in a 3, deep lying and let him quarterback the game and let DCL, grey and Richie get on with being uptop.
 

The tines I've seen him for Utd I've gotta say I haven't been impressed. Looks like he doesn't demand the ball plus it looks as though his teammates don't trust him with the ball as when he was available for a pass they tended to pick another player.

BUT

Im willing to give John my next door neighbour a game in midfield so I'll definitely give Donny a chance. Hopefully a change of scenery and some minutes gets his confidence up and where he's looked very Klassen lite at Utd, we see the layer everyone was raving about when he was at Utd.

Is that his game? Haven’t seen signs of that from what I’ve seen.
 
Everton signing a Dutch player. What could possible go wrong?

Do think VDB is a good player. A lot better than Davy Klaassen imo. Just not sure if he has the right tools to handle the Premiership.
 

I think he is the type of player we have been missing. Whether he is the player is another matter, but we’ve got a team full of runners and we need someone to supply the front 3 players. Part of getting the right balance on the pitch.

As @dulle already said - huge wages. United want them covering in full plus a loan fee which discounts a lot of clubs. I don't know the loan quotas for leagues all over Europe or indeed the wage bills and restrictions but there could be dozens of reasons any number of clubs wouldn't find the deal viable and would prefer to use their limited resources in other positions.

You can lose a significant chunk of the wage bill plus a few million in loan fees. I'm not criticising the move as I've never sat and watched the lad play for 90 minutes but there are definitely financial risks with the deal if it doesn't come off. Look at when we signed Elaquim Mangala on loan from City - that wrote off a few million for nothing.
