I think there's a good footballer in him from what I saw here and at Ajax although his lack of opportunities at United would be counter-evidence.

The issue at the moment is we have a player who arguably could offer an element of what we need in the middle, but instead he's injured again.

I'm like a stuck record on this topic. People are still blinded by the Dutch connection. Players and coaches by and large are stars only in their own country in recent years.

He has played 6 league games, we've lost 5 of them.
It's not all his fault either way, but we won't miss him one bit.

Not doubting there's a player in there but it's an odd feeling this, i would approach his potential transfer with the "it's not you, it's me" bit.

Like listen Donny, we've got a lot to work through on our own, and i didn't know if it's gonna be in the championship or the prem but we're gonna need a bit of space and some time apart to contemplate how inflation and loss of revenue is going to impact our Bramley Moore project.

We absolutely did - PL clubs don't give away players for nothing. Especially when other clubs were likely interested.

He's influenced 2 games so far - Leeds at hoke he was superb and he was fantastic against City until he went off injured.

We really needed to see him a LOT more.

He's another victim of our inadequate fitness and medical department.

I bet he goes back to Utd and is fit most games...

tbf mate ( and I think our fitness has been an absolute disgrace tbh ) maybe his lack of games the last 2 years means he's struggled with putting the workload in required and then picked up these niggles.

I'd certainly like to hear from the medical department though on their thoughts and reasons why we've looked unfit, injured, players opting out with slight knocks, long term injuries, ops needed, no ops needed.

You could also ask why are so many players getting injuries in training, as well as in the warm-up before matches.
