Drenthe ..sacked ?

The players must have been well hacked off with him yesterday as well. It can't have helped their preparation. There can be no way back for him after that. Shame, but it was always on the cards after his antics in Spain.

I've read the last 70 odd posts and am baffled at most of the talk.

Baffled mainly because we don't know what's happened yet.

As of right now, it's all speculation and conjecture.

I'll wait for the facts to come out.

In the meantime, I can only go with what I DO know. That is when he's been on the pitch for us, more often than not, he's been the creative spark we've sorely missed.

We shall see.

And you also do know because lcab and fox have said so, that he has broke club rules consistently.

In any team sport, at any level, you can not allow an individual to do what they want, which goes against the boundaries set for the rest of the team. It sounds like he has had chance after chance to get his act together but yet again, on the biggest occasion the club has had in 3 years he disrespects his manager and teammates. The problem on this occasion is we end up losing, at wembley, against our biggest rivals, so people say why wasnt it dealt with after the game. I can see their point slightly but who,s to say we would have won with him anyway, ok we would have had a better chance but we,ll never know. If moyes allowed this latest indescretion to pass on this of all occasions he may have gained in the short term but certainly lost out in the long term with the message it sent out the the other players in the squad who would give everything representing everton both on and off the pitch.

Im gonna miss the little fella but nobody is bigger than everton, especially someone who has such little regard for club rules.

Not nec' .

There MAY be an Out or two but Id say a few , 3 maybe 4 in ...

Early tho ...

Heard anything about Snodgrass from Leeds? I have heard a few rumours that we are looking at him. Would be a decent signing in my opinion not the fastest player but he is a decent footballer with a great delivery, one of the better players in the Championship.

For me we lack pace
If we wanna improve we need more than one speed merchant

Moralism? What moralism?

This is a JOB. You are PAID.

You don't do said job and others do, you are FIRED.

Has nothing to do with morals.

I want a team I am proud of. And Drenthe's behavior does not make me proud. I don't want to support a team of Ballotelli's, Suarez's and Drenthe's. That's not what Everton stands for.

You wouldn't have liked some of our past legends then. You sometimes have to cut some slack to players who are a bit wayward - it often comes with the territory with creativity. It's horses for courses; one size dosn't fit all. That's why we have managers who are highly prized who can get inside different players heads to coax what needs to be coaxed out of them individually and get that big performance. Moyes cant hack that - he has previous in binning players who dont tow the line. He's inflexible - a quality that'll allow him to frighten a consistent performance out of journeymen but pretty much leaves other players cold. I have no patience for these prima donas myself, but I dont get paid £3M per year to put up with them and work every single one of them. Moyes does though, and he falls down on the job in that respect. If he took that attitude into a CL playing squad at some other club he'd last abot two months tops.

I say again, that was a ridiculous moment to cast a player like him adrift. If he's been caught pen in hand in talks with Liverpool then I understand - anything falling short of that and I dont see for the life of me why we cant get yesterdays game out of him and play him off the bench.

Doesn't really get us any further as to why it was done yesterday though does it mate? I mean if he's been at it all the time then a manager should deal with it before the eve of our biggest game for three ****ing seasons.

Whatever Roys done, Moyes isn't coming out of this smelling of roses from where I'm standing either.

Royston is like a an amazing lapdancer that licks yer ear and rubs the boobs over yer fat face, YOU'RE IN HEAVEN..ITS A CHEAP THRILL IT EXCITES YOU... ITS A WORLD AWAY FROM YOUR NORMAL LIFE......................when you know you're more suited to the pedestrian lifestyle like..when you know you have to go home to...

We had to have those rules befiore yesterday. Why before the SF? Let's not start off about the principle of it all if Moyes has let this slip for months as you say he has.

Timing mate: It's all wrong.

By the way, does this mean we never ever have another character playing for us again? Our history is littered with them. Better take down the legends pics from the walls. A squad of blazer wearing drones with a thimbleful of talent from now on it is then.

I never thought he was THAT GOOD anyway, talented lad, dont get me wrong, with tonnes of potential, however didnt show it enough for me, fell down far too easily and just tended to play within himself. So i think im going to be one of the minority to be quite happy he will be leaving in the near future.

Now to the disciplinary matter. From whats been posted in the months since he was loaned out to us, and before as well, we must of known he was gonna be a hard one for Moyes to handle, never a good start.

If he has CONSTANTLY broken club rules and P****D Moyes off then he needs to be out of this club ASAP. Also if he has CONSTANTLY broken club rules, why was it left until the Semi-*******-Final of the FA Cup until it was sorted, he should of been disciplined properly after the second time to make him not want to do it again (fool us once shame on you etc.), no one is fully to blame it is a mixture of everyone. Drenthe should be working hard on and off the pitch (professionally and personally) to ensure the progression of the club he is playing for and Moyes should be doing everything in his power to ensure this happens.

Finally, i think now it is a foregone conclusion that he will not be a blue next season (at least not our blue anyway), send him back to Madrid tomorrow (im sure a club can cancel the contract of a player that they have loaned out when they see fit), part on as good terms as possible and wish him the best for the future.

Davek how do you think the players on the bench would feel when Drenthe gets on before them despite consistently breaking club rules?

I see your point dave but these situations come to a head sooner or later, unfortunately for us it happened pre this game of all games. Its a tough call one way or other for moyes as to how you deal with it. Its a gamble no matter what he does. And as any of us who gamble know, you lose more than you win.
