You wouldn't have liked some of our past legends then. You sometimes have to cut some slack to players who are a bit wayward - it often comes with the territory with creativity. It's horses for courses; one size dosn't fit all. That's why we have managers who are highly prized who can get inside different players heads to coax what needs to be coaxed out of them individually and get that big performance. Moyes cant hack that - he has previous in binning players who dont tow the line. He's inflexible - a quality that'll allow him to frighten a consistent performance out of journeymen but pretty much leaves other players cold. I have no patience for these prima donas myself, but I dont get paid £3M per year to put up with them and work every single one of them. Moyes does though, and he falls down on the job in that respect. If he took that attitude into a CL playing squad at some other club he'd last abot two months tops.
I say again, that was a ridiculous moment to cast a player like him adrift. If he's been caught pen in hand in talks with Liverpool then I understand - anything falling short of that and I dont see for the life of me why we cant get yesterdays game out of him and play him off the bench.
