According to reports this has been going on long enough that Priciples were long out the window. Moyes made his bed, now he has to lie in it.

The only way I can see it that Moyes has any cred in this is if he made it quite clear from the start, or certainly long enough ago, that RR had a certain number of chances, and he was counting them down. In that case it becomes less a case of principles and more a case of lack of foresight and planning.

Btw, I'm not absolving RR of any blame in this, i'm mearly considering how the situation has been handled.

Let's face it the kid is a loose cannon with quick feet and talent, why would we want to keep anyone as unpredictable? Not as if we've done it in the past.

On the pitch I though Drenthe was a very frustrating player

He had a bit of talent but he was all over the shop IMO

I think this is the relevant point with regard to Drenthe. His whole approach shows him to be a loose cannon and is not the sort of player who would become a regular. But the point is that he showed how much we need - and without him we do not have - PACE!
If Moyes is to carry on after this season it is a priority that he finds - from somewhere - a team player who can, in the blink of an eye, turn defence into attack by running at the opposition whilst keeping a sensible head on his shoulders.
