It's alright saying 'incremental' and three strikes and you're out...but what way is that to run a club when the emphasis has always been on cohesion and discipline and teamwork? Somehow I cant really see Victor turning up constantly late for training, frigging off and coming back late from the continent and having a quiet word with another club and then being given the leeway this feller apparently had. And that goes for any other player at the club.
There's two possibilities here: either the extent of Drenthe's misdemeanours has been wildly exaggerated and Moyes just gave a warning then got rid...and he hasn't been seriously talking to Liverpool and that they were maybe pursuing him (unlikely for the most part given what LCAB has said) - in which case you can get your head around why he lasted so long...

...Moyes has given this feller license to do things he'd afford no other player (and the fact he was on loan or on contract makes **** all difference to that, btw) in which case he's just stored up trouble for the future over discipline matters and it's incredible he'd allow him to last that long to do that.
Let's get away from the black and white. There is none to be had here...just all hands coming up smelling a bit shitty. If we can accept that there's not much else to ebate. I just get the impression though that Moyes has to be painted as completely the wronged and innocent party here. He's not.
