Having a fan in the dugout is exactly what's needed.
Carlo has the opportunity to remain detached from 'fanatical' emotions and therefore make logical tactical judgements. Duncan demonstrates the passion that's also needed from winners.
Of course Carlo doesn't consult him, but I don't doubt for a minute that his presence in the dugout is a bonus to the players.

I love Big Dunc for being the way he is. I’d imagine they compliment each other well with the team talks. - Carlo cool as a cucumber getting their respect and Big Dunc firing them up as they leave the dressing room!!!

They do seem to work well together. I love how different they are.

I imagine Carlo does a lot of smiling and saying “yes,” after Dunc says something to him, having not understood a word of it.

I met him in the local spar shop in Formby a couple of months back and didn't have a clue what he said for the most part!!!
