Duncan Ferguson the coach

You said the exact same thing to me a few weeks ago, you watch this side and if you think they are being well coached im sorry but your letting your sentiment take over, Dunc needs to be gone with the rest of them, what Bob said is true, its not just bad management with these players but once there on the pitch they dont even look like a side being coached by a professional.
Ask yourself this, would any other Premier League team take Dunc as a coach? He is a fan and nothing more

What does he do in training?

Does he do tactics with them? Does he just put the cones out?

We dont know what input he has, so how people can say he does a bad job I dont know, the fact that 4 managers have retained his services suggests to me that hes doing a job worthy of a Premier League coach.

As if Dunc can be blamed for anything that has gone on at this club playing wise since he got a coaching job.

He puts cones out and follows instructions, this thread is amazing.

No i would say he is part of the furniture and has an easy ticket, the fact he sits in silence on the bench and has little input does make me wonder, least Sammy Lee tries to offer some encouragement to the players.

That might well be true, but you’d think Dunc would be able to instil some passion into the players as he was one of the most passionate players whenever he pulled on a blue shirt. Sadly with this shower, it looks like he can’t.

We don’t really know what he does - I know what his role is but does anyone have any ideas about his influence ? He’s a bit like Rooney, Jeffers, Unsy and all, definitely good to have passionate blues at the club - IF they are also skilled and talented though

If only a few players had the passion Dunc has for this club, we'd be in the champs league without doubt.

I just find this thread funny.

Its like Everton is a restaurant :

The chef burns the food
The supplier buys rotten ingredients
The waiter is rude

But everybody wants to blame the poor fella who just cuts up a few onions.

For entertainment and preserving-interest reasons alone it's worth appointing the big man. We now know Sam's not able to step up...letting him continue will cost bums on seats.
He's a no mark. A cone layer. And increasingly a figure of fun. I cant think of anything more pathetic than placing that galoot in charge for even a handful of games.

Clowns dont win trophies and manage top international teams.

He's a respected assistant-coach and was a feared personality back in the day. Also, he's an Everton Icon. In these darkly-Sam days we could do with a couple of months of cheering on our own.

Look at it this way, Dave: what are the pros & cons of Sam staying vs Sam sacked now & replaced by Dunc 'til May? There's not much in it points-wise, pay-off will be similar....but potential feel-good factor will be immense. And those feels put bums on seats and sells season tickets for next season. It's a low-risk/high-reward move.

Plus Dunc's got Unsy to help him out.

lol By whom?

What are the pros and cons of sacking Allardyce and replacing him with Ferguson? About the same as they are if we replaced Allardyce with a corner flag.

This forum has turned terrible. When we're crap our fans look so unknowledgeable. There's plenty of people to blame, so why do people start going overboard and try and look for others to blame. Those they don't know what they do.

Its simple: he's had his chance in the dugout along with the people he worked with who were sacked...in fact more chance than them since he's outlived them all in the job.

Why not put Jeffers in the dugout, because we dont know how well he can coach or not either.
