Bernard first game back from injury in a long time wasn’t even at 50% today.

To go to Old Trafford and come back with a point given half of your first team squad was out, playing with a centre half in midfield but still actually putting in a brilliant effort where we created plenty of chances and could have potentially scored more, against a team who went away to Man City last week and beat them is a very very good result.
Brilliantly put, not many top top managers could have achieved that today.

You can't compare Ferguson's team with Allardyce's. Allardyce was backs to the wall and never attack. Even when we were safe he didn't change, we barely attacked. We had about 10 shots in 10 games.
Just lifted this from wiki
"Whilst under Allardyce's management, Everton were ranked 20th for total shots, 19th for total shots on target, 16th for passing accuracy and 17th for shots faced in the Premier League."

Learn football ffs.

Given how poor we have been and the growing injury list, the performances under Duncan have been alarmingly good. I don't think it's 'inevitable' that players will put in a shift for a figurehead, there are plenty who crash and burn at the first hurdle and our very own HK was almost sacked in 1983. My over riding fear is that the last three managers (excluding Sam) have just not been able to get enough traction to build on, so why do we think this time will be any different? If we hire another pup it will be seriously embarrassing for the board, in their shoes I think I would be asking Duncan to give it a go and back him in the January window.
I agree I can’t really see who’s out there that could do any better than Dunc is doing.

Or he starts alienating players (tosun and kean) and loses the dressing room.

I think moshiri will let him carry on until a top class manager is found.

In fairness if being dropped, subbed, left out of the squad alienates players I'd like to see them leave the club. Sure disappointment, anger, having a moan yep, but nothing more.

Only 11 can play at any one time so someone will always feel left out. Kean needs to prove the decision was wrong on the training ground tomorrow. Life's hard but the man is well paid for his pain.

I concur

I remember the Derby we only attacked once and got a penalty, it was a very frustrating watch under Big Sam.

New boss bounce is always difficult to assess, especially after 2 games.

But he has been tactically good, is clearly getting a response that we havnt seen since Royle, (imo), And lets face it, there is not a manager on the planet who cares more about about Everton.

The Kean sub is work in progress atm. Long term, it might turn out to be a stoke of genius, or £27m lobbed under a bus. No one knows.

He will clearly take the cup match, and for me, the way he has the team playing, Arsenal will be destroyed at Goodison.

So, 7 points from Chelsea, United, and Arsenal, perhaps a semi final, well, what would you do?

Big Dunc has really surprised me.
Good tactical decisions, getting our lot to actually look like they care and playing good enough football to make watching Everton enjoyable

Could be our manager if he keeps this up

I called Silva out from the start despite 80% on here saying I was wrong.

Believe me - Big Dunc should not be considered for the job - neither should have Unsworth previously or neither should Arteta in the future.

We have to stop arsing around with gambles, nostalgia, jobs for the boys or safe choice as are always the list when it comes to our next manager.

We have to be bold and go out and get in the best manager possible.
