Duncan Ferguson - The Coach

4-4-2 is such an interesting tactic to play with in the modern game.

We're well off the quality that Diego Simeone's Atletico possesses, but there are obvious parallels that can be drawn.

Would now be interesting to see how we fare against lesser sides come January, if Dunc is still in the role ofc.

Isn't it great also having a manager who has the dignity, integrity and eloquence of Big Dunc when he's in front of the cameras.

It's been a long time. Even after a win Silva looked close to tears and flat.
It's great having someone who cares. The last bunch we've had couldn't have given a single feck between them. Play like you mean it or go play somewhere else.
Onwards and upwards. NSNO

I remember the Derby we only attacked once and got a penalty, it was a very frustrating watch under Big Sam.
For me it was the Goodison derby. Liverpool had a CL game 3 days later, possibly City so put their 2nd string out. We defended til about the 80th minute until someone decided it was time to have a go. Unforgivable.

Or he starts alienating players (tosun and kean) and loses the dressing room.

I think moshiri will let him carry on until a top class manager is found.

How has he alienated players who don't work hard enough for the cause?

How you respond is key. Perhaps Kean ups his effort and remembers why this club pays his substantial wage packet.

This club has drifted aimlessly for years.
It's about time we got ourselves a real leader. I have stated I want Simeone. If that is a pipe dream then I want someone of the temperament and ilk. A manager I would go to war for.

Perhaps that man is Duncan. I certainly would work my socks off for him. I believe in him and have been impressed with his coaching so far. That could indeed be just a flash in the pan. But why play it down. We have suffered for almost a quater of a century and I am sick of it. We need a larger than life character/leader to get us moving again.

Quote me on this: It will only end in tears. We hated the style of football under Fat Sam, it won’t be much different long term under Dunc.

We need Ancelotti or even Howe who’s been managing in the league for years and has Bournemouth playing nice stuff with a limited squad, year in year out.

And Howe won at Chelsea yesterday - so going by some of your posts in here, by that measuring stick, Howe deserves at least an interview, no?

No

I called Silva out from the start despite 80% on here saying I was wrong.

Believe me - Big Dunc should not be considered for the job - neither should have Unsworth previously or neither should Arteta in the future.

We have to stop arsing around with gambles, nostalgia, jobs for the boys or safe choice as are always the list when it comes to our next manager.

We have to be bold and go out and get in the best manager possible.

I don't believe you anymore than I would anyone else on here, or even myself, none of us have any real idea, just opinions. I am no evangelist for Dunc, but maybe you should explain why he and Arteta would fail and while you're at it tell me who the best possible manager is and why he would come to Everton. I just think we should try something different, given the abject failure of our policy over the last five years, one that you seem to advocate repeating.
