..I watched an interesting documentary recently. A number of veterans have historically blamed the RAF for their apparent lack of cover resulting in the Luftwaffe having clear skies to bomb the flotilla and fleeing troops but the documentary said the reality was a lot different. Not sure if that will be portrayed in the film.

My understanding of it is that a lot of the dogfighting happened at sea during this event so troops on the ground were unaware of the RAF's assistance.

..cheers Matey. At sea, inland and apparently too high up for the troops to see what was happening. Apparently the RAF suffered significant losses but also inflicted quite a lot of damage.

In my personal experience Eggs and I'm sure things were the same back then, but the other two branches of the armed forces have always been incredibly jealous of the RAF so blame them for everything.

The RAF was for the school needs who were the sort who got picked on by the thick lads who join the army. Just my experience of it all like.

Should be an interesting watch.

The Dunkirk evacuation was a seminal moment in history.

Had those 330,000 allied troops not been evacuated from Dunkirk in May of 1940, Germany would likely have annexed Britain and won the war.

I'd probably put Interstellar up there as one of my fav Nolan films to be honest.

I reckon there will be an after credits scene, eisenhower, smoking a huge cigar, back to the camera puts the phone down, turns to camera, raises eyebrow, and scene
