He needs to be playing tucked in off the right for me with Patterson behind him offering energy up and down. I think you lose any threat he has by sticking him on the left.
Hasn't that been done a couple times this season without much effect though? His two good attacking performances have been on the left. Unless Lampard needs a defensive shift I don't think his best position is on the right.

I think a diamond would be better going forward with Maupay/DCL/Gray/Gordon up top since we're so toothless attacking from the wings. McNeil would fit nicely on either side of the diamond with Iwobi at the tip.

I think his best game for us was against Leeds when he played off the right with Patterson behind (I think...) - I recall Burnley fans saying similar that he was most effective off the right (sort of like a cut price james rodriguez)

I do think he is a player that has something about him but just isn't quick enough in the modern game to be an out and out wide man.

I think there's been some flashes of the dribbling james had to makeup for his slowness but his passing's pretty hit or miss so far. Never get why he insists on trying to beat his man for pace when they've already caught up to him too.
