2022/23 Dwight McNeil

He'll be the signing that will eventually get Lampard sacked
If Lampard gets the axe it wont be because a bang average player from Burnley continues to be bang average for us. It'll be because -yet again- some turnip has failed to hit the target from five foot out, a-la Gray clearing the roof v Spurs or Davies hitting an aeroplane v Bournemouth or DCL hitting the keeper v Leics etc etc.

The summer transfer window had to be absolute perfect for us because of the glaring deficiencies in the squad - paired with being hamstrung with finances

Most of the signings made sense. The Dwight McNeil transfer makes absolutely zero sense - and should not have been endorsed by anybody at the club.

Angry, frustrated fans will continue to flag up this particular transfer - because it looks like a Richarlison replacement and we've bought completely the wrong player to accomplish that role

I don't disagree, but we have a DOF whose job is to do the transfers. McNeil was brought in because he was availble for a small upfront fee, whereas Cornet wasn't. Maybe it was FL's call to do it, maybe it was KT's. Bit unfair to lump the summer business solely at FL's door.

I completely agree - and I'm certainly not squaring the blame directly at Frank

We all know who takes the bullet though
