2022/23 Dwight McNeil

Has to, why is that?

Sounds like a poor excuse for him that - he doesn't have to be cowardly every time he receives the ball out on the wing. He doesn't even try to go forward, his instinct is to hurriedly turn his body back towards our left back or centre halves to retain possession by passing off any responsibility.

He was absolutely pointless today and it was a disgraceful and pathetic performance from him. Gordon had a bad game and he did more in the sole minute or two that he switched wings on to McNeil's side than McNeil did all half.
I literally said why in the preceeding sentance! We have nobody going forward, we never do.

My tongue is slightly in my cheek when talking about McNeil and him being our second top scorer but honestly I dont think he is any worse than the other losers we have playing for us right now. I don't know if its the set up, I don't know if its just everybody being crap, could be a combination of the two but our attacking prowess is pathetic.

Id pick him every time ahead if Gordon, and he is nowhere near as unlikeable a character either. I feel a bit sorry for McNeil because he is clearly not a forward. He didnt play well at all yesterday, but he didnt do anything as egregiously bad as Gordon either, so swings and roundabouts.

1 thing i did notice is as soon as we took him off, Wolves made 3 attacking subs and exploited the space we left with Mykolenko exposed. The entire shape of the team just folded.

No pace and passive.

Never a player to buy in a relegation threatened outfit.

It beggars belief that he was bought in the summer.

Literally any poster off this forum could have told the Dof and Lampard that the fight to survive had only just begun and come up with better players to bring in for what we required this season with the Richarlison cash.

We needed a handful of no frills athletes who could get up and down the pitch for 90 minutes.

The majority of this forum know better than the recruitment person. A player with zero pace and is supposed to be a winger. Can’t score can’t assist at Burnley and he took Richy’s #7 shirt.

Footballers will always beat athletes. You sound like you wanted us to set up as the Crazy Gang.

As for McNeil he isn't eye catching for pace but he seems to be a good footballer albeit very slight and seemingly lacking confidence. I mean getting an assist last game was alright?

I'm convinced that was a signing to hand Burnley a few quid to get them to STFU about court cases.

If you dont have pace in this league you have nothing...unless you have a great football brain and can sit in puling the strings. That isn'y McNeill.
