2.5 mill euros mate.
Was going to post that , their recruitment and that of Brentford is just at a different level . There is a reason why Newcastle , beginning their rebuild went for ashworth.

Is there another premier league club that seem almost as totally focused on premier league experience as us ? I appreciate we don’t exclusively shop there but we seem so intent that’s the market , when we don’t we also rarely look for upcoming talent and look for ‘big club’ cast offs .

@MassBlue sums it up well...

3 years of promising performances for Burnley. Value of £35mil and looking like he'd go up a gear in a better team.

1 bad season, we sign him and it becomes an 18month mess.

His button was turned off 18months ago.
Imagine if you actually watched any of these players before you gave opinions on them as if you're an expert, that'd be a mad idea wouldn't it?

Not accurate. Dwight was crap for Burnley last year weighing in with exactly 0 goals.

Just look at him play, he's awful. EFC got him coz we can pay over 5 years or something.

Signing Dwight was a sackable offence as was the Deli signing and the Maupay signing and proof
that there are more bluffers in football than at a card table.

Assume this wasn't meant to be a reply to me, seeing as it has nothing to do with what you've quoted?

From my lad’s Everton annual. Last sentence is like a bad joke.

It’s a joke how bad we’ve become at recruitment, and the constant need for premier league “experience” baffles me.

If we were signing the best players from other teams or proper proven players from the big clubs, that would be acceptable, but all we do is buy the dross from big clubs and crap players from the relegated sides.

I am no massive fan of moyes but it seems other clubs have copied his formula from his time with us when money was tight, and we have shat all over it.

We don’t even look properly at the championship players like we used to, probably because the value isn’t there, but why can’t we look for the best talent in the smaller continental leagues or even South America? It’s just highlights a lack of strategy and bad planning. Ironic that we are supposedly under a strategic review….

I’d sooner play our youth players than some of the garbage we sign.
