2024/25 Dwight McNeil

Oh don't get me wrong, I think we can get better to replace him and hope we do. He definitely better than a lot of people make out.
Think he was playing poorly for quite a while (along with just an about all our other players) before his injury. Think Moyes might help improve him a fair bit though.

Always thought he’d make a better number 9 than out wide.

At times, it's been clear he's been overplayed, he didn't look fully fit at times. He was so important to Dyche though he had to play. I just think he's more than good enough to be part of this squad.

I dunno, it’s possible but Dyche had a rep of only playing players when they’re fully fit.

Don’t think he’s ever put in consistently decent performances since he signed. Scored some very important goals for us though and would like to see him play under someone who at least has some tactics instead of run around a lot.

I just think it's unfair to completely write him off. I'm not saying you are, but some people have. He's already shown he can perform, and honestly, having Ndiaye and McNeil on the left next season is more than good enough. We’ve got bigger priorities than worrying about replacing McNeil.

3 goals and 4 assists in 15 this season playing in a absolutely shocking front line, really isn't shocking when compared to lindstrom, harrison, i'd put him in the same category as Garner, i think for now they're absolutely fine and hopefully under Moyes they improve.

This is a huge myth, by the way - he’s played DCL, Tarkowski, McNeil, and Branthwaite before even when they weren’t fully fit. Tarkowski the start of the season wasn't fit.

Is interesting that he was playing on the right...he is not very good there and I am sure moyes will quickly find out that he can't play there. Great assist though even if he had a bit of luck the pass wasn't intercepted.

I’ve not written him off and think, like most of our team, they have been the victim of some poor coaching and tactics. He will have more joy with better players and movement around him

He’s only played under Dyche and Lampard there, think it’ll help playing under a manager who’s more tactically knowledgeable, hopefully we’ll see him given a run there

Not sure about that. Moyes wants the wide players playing in the middle channel, not necessarily wide like with Dyche. McNeil has proven he can be very effective towards the middle of the pitch.
