2024/25 Dwight McNeil

So the less he plays the closer he becomes to prime Messi then.

If we ignore the one footedness, tardiness on the ball, lack of pace, inability to play the ball ahead of someone he can clearly see and focus only on the occasional blammo - he's the best player in the world, right next to Broja.
Literally nobody has said any of this, a few people have said he'd be a useful player and would like to see him available now we're playing more on the front foot. It's hardly a controversial opinion.

People are also saying we’ve massively missed him while citing no evidence.
Some people have said we've missed his set pieces, which is probably true, and I think we've missed wide options both in the starting line up and from the bench. I think your use of the word "massively" is not really reflective of the general tone in this thread. I haven't seen a single post suggesting he should be the first name on the teamsheet or anything like that, just a few people saying it would be good to have him back.

He started off poorly when he arrived. People got on his back. He improved into one of our most important players but people just can't change their mind. They are oblivious to what they watch.

They need a scapegoat or two to moan about.

Yes he is slow and one footed. If he was quick or as good with both feet he would be playing for a team at the top of the table.

He will be straight back in the team when he is fit.
