Dyche is the man

Like I said look at the list of free agent managers available there are at least 5 I’d be more comfortable with long term than him and yes I include the likes of Potter and Rodgers in that list
Potters record is no better than Dyches. And given his record at Chelsea why would he do better for you than Dyche? What has he achieved that Dyche hasn’t / couldn’t?

He succeeded Eddie Howe at Burnley, and did much better!
Indeed he did. Although Howe did well for us and paid some good foundations. That said we weee starting to go backwards before Dyche came in and got us promoted straight away after keeping us up in his first half a season.

Dyche would have Chelsea third now if he’d taken over when Potter did.

He’d have a settled back 4, consistent line up, players all contributing, and he’d have found a way to score goals without a striker. With the quality they have it would have been a cakewalk for him.

its workmanlike stuff, no idea how it can be described as attractive in any way.

he's been in charge for 9 games, with a sub-35% win rate, 2 games of which required last minute goals to get a draw. Without those we would be 19th and hot favourites for the drop.

People need to pump the brakes on some of plaudits being doled out here, because this man failed to develop any discernible style at Burnley, its as much to do with philosophy as players at his disposal. Both Potter and Rodgers are actually better examples of what can be achieved at more limited outfits, and shouldnt be dismissed as easily as some here are attempting.
Rodger’s managed Celtic in a one horse race. And spent millions at Leicester and has them in the bottom three. Bottled the title with Liverpool when it was easier to win it. Some style.

Potters record at Brighton is bang average. But for some reason gets a great press.

Dyche did wonders with nothing at Burnley. And is and will do here.

Can’t disagree at all.

Anyway. Over and out. See you in a few months when you stay up and we come up.

Fine if you want mediocrity but all it shows is an average manager which is what he is can pick up results

How about we get a quality one in instead and see how we go?
is a very hard situation at the club at the minute . Potter ect could be an option for us when the club is in a better position, but to say he is an nothing manager is just wrong. He has come in with a broken side with a team low on confidence, no style or goals. Yes he has come in and made it simple but what was he meant to do. We do not have the players at the club at this time for anything else, will be a time when we want to see more from dyche and this team. But it is not the time i have been really happy with dyche i dont think we could have bought in a better manager for this time

How about we get either financially or positional stable for a season before we start punting managers and going full Moshiri again?
Dyche gets at least next season, if he wants it.
He's picking up £100,000 a week on a 2.5 year deal after being unemployed for almost a year. Pretty sure he has zero intention of voluntarily giving up his Premier League manager's job any time soon.

You say that mate but if the club don't change their ways or go back on promises made, he doesn't seem like one to just grin and bear it. Should be sitting on a decent wedge now to be able to no work for a long time without a payout.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, I hope the club extend his contract.

He’s the only manager in recent times that seems to have truly understood what Evertonians expect from their team.
The guy is a couple of months into a 2.5 year contract, why on earth would the club extend it after only 9 games (and only a third of them being wins)?? It's not like Barca and Bayern are fighting it out for him. Handing out expensive, long term contracts to managers left right and center is one of the reasons the finances are a mess when they have to be paid up when results inevitably drop off and the axe swings.

He's under a very lucrative contract, so let's see if he keeps us in the league first (this year and next!) before we start putting yet another big, long contract on the books.

He's obviously a multi-millionaire many times over and has no "need" to work, but he's no moron. He wants to be 1 of the 20 working in the 'best league in the world', not a chance he'd walk away from that and the £100k a week he's getting (when was the last time any manager chose to forgo their contract).

He's been around the block enough to know how things work, boards dont always deliver what they say etc, it wont be anything new to him; and he knows this will be the biggest job he'll ever have. The new guy at Brighton was one of the possible names on Spurs and Chelsea's list whilst Dyche who has 10+ years of Prem experience exceeding his resources wouldn't get the time of day at any top half club. He knows EFC are as good for him and he is for us.

He's done a lot better than Frank and to be honest I can't think of a manager who would have done better than Dyche with this squad. No striker in the squad, lots of injuries and suspensions when we already have one of the worst squads in the Prem.

The frightening thing is is that the players seem to be giving their all.
