How has it come to this? Mentions of Mourinho 18 months ago, Emery, Ancelotti, Tuchel amongst others. An ‘A’ list of managers, and we’re talking of Allardyce and Dyche, and I like Dyche. I’m off to look at the Summer transfer thread from June/July. Good times.

Either are a much better option than letting Rhino fail, or god forbid, bringing Moyes back (not that I think that would ever happen).


Personally, given this choice, I’d go Big Sam to turn us round this season. Bring in someone like Tuchel next season.

As @Andy C says, anyone who signs Djorkaeff, Campo and Jay Jay Okacha can’t be all bad

But it feels like the end of something for me.

Like an admission, if only to myself, that Everton are now officially among that rank of clubs that exist merely to make up the numbers.

It all started with the “unexpected losses” comment.......there was something about that statement that has shaken most of us to our blue cotton socks

And a month later we are voting for either Sam or Dyche

I feel the same. Sam for a quick fix, Dyche for I don't know what. Neither have managed with a big budget but both would sort the defence out. Some interesting points raised by Durham and Goughie on my drive home.

I honestly find it hard to choose , it’s a genuine Hobson’s choice . If we’re appointing on the basis as someone to get us out of the mire I suppose it has to be allardyce. I worry as to what dyche brings to the table . They’ve had a good few months but otherwise I’m concerned as to what’s there .

Dyche could end up being the better Man , I think he could have potential but then again he could be nothing . With allardyce we know exactly what we’re getting both good and bad .

So in short I really don’t know , other than it’s a terrible choice to have to make.
