I must confess that's what I'm dreading . I decided last summer I'd try to get the final, knock it off the bucket list , I like Madrid as a city and have a soft spot for Athletico. Flights and hotel are booked and I'm in the ballot for tickets with UEFA. I could put up with the RS against any other team but hopefully they'll be out.

There are two UEFA cartel clubs left in in Juve and Barca and they’ve conveniently been split. As much as Liverpool and United are huge cash cows UEFA look after their own and will hopefully see both teams through to the final. That’s the final they want. No one at UEFA will want City/United, City/Liverpool or Juve/Liverpool as a final.

I'm not overly worried about Man U and am really looking forward to that game. Last time I saw Man U live was when we beat them on penos in that cup semi.

However I'm already anxious about the possibility of watching them lot go through in the semi Vs Barça. As if this season wasn't bad enough.

I can’t imagine another two weeks of relentless build up and the depression at the thoughts of them actually winning the darned thing as we head towards the final.

I work with a load of Liverpool and Man Utd fans and it really sticks in the throat to see them banging on about the CL draw all morning and getting all giddy while this club sits a million miles away from that level. Three North West clubs in the draw, we really are the very poor relations.

And I really don't why some on here keep insisting this or that team will 'defo' beat the RS as they are usually wrong. Knowing how fortunate that shower are I totally dismiss any 'assurances' about who will beat them until they are actually out.

Imagine debating over Everton whether going deep in European competition could negatively effect a push for the title, instead of debating whether the manager should be sacked and half the playing squad binned off..Jesus wept.

Trying to claim that them being in a European quarter final against cannon fodder is some sort of negative is ludicrous. Whoever they play, whatever stage in whatever competition I hope they get absolutely obliterated and embarrassed ASAP. What I won’t do however is do some convoluted mental gymnastics to convince myself that them going deep in any competition is a good thing. I want them out early of every comp they’re in because we all know strange things happen the further they go.
