ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I grew up watching them constantly winning the league (and at our expense a couple of times) so part of me thinks - so what, but since then add the formation of Sky and BT sports the later of which seem to have been created solely to prepare for the long awaited coronation of the loveable RS - I'm thinking this is going to be the biggest and most unbearable sports related media jizz-fest on record....
Just praying Pep's vastly superior experience of winning trophies will kick in and get city over the line.
This

I was at a Space gig last night and they were asking me about Richarlison and what I thought. One of them said, "He's [rubbish]," I said, "Why do Liverpool want him if he's [rubbish]?" and another one said, "To mess with Everton."

I hope we keep him.

Chelsea are the last hope that Liverpool will lose points again this season. That wont be helped by Chelsea having two days to prepare for it and a long trip to Russia to get out of their legs. Ideal time to play them.

But they did the hard yards in the Christmas fixtures, and Cty crumbled at that point. That's when this title was won and lost.
So you've conceded the title to them (in a manner of speaking) and its wasn't Pickfords fault at all then, but a handy 2 pts none the less...just another in a long list of jammy occurrences.

Any way, we can but hope.

G-d I hope we beat United, I despise them. OGS aside.
What body part of yourself would you be prepared to lose to stop them winning the league?

I was thinking part of a finger but i touch type so don't want to lose that. Maybe the tip of the toe next to the little toe, that doesn't seem to do much?

I'd think about the top part of an ear. Maybe that would let you wear all hats at a fun jaunty angle.

Or your foreskin, you can have fun pretending to be a bad Jew and eat pork scratchings and oysters.

Other suggestions are welcome.
My hair. I already am a bad Jew, although I don't have a penis.

For years I've thought them winning the title would crush me. At the end of the day, we've just got to suck it up, life goes on.

Some of you older lads on here saw them win titles all the time. If it happens, so be it. The achievement will be their brilliant squad of players, not their bell end fan base who are quite easily the worst set of supporters in England, which is quite some achievement given the competition.

Here’s the difference, Dan.

Back in the late 70s/early 80s when they were sweeping all before them and we were struggling at times, you always knew our day would come pretty soon.

And in 1984 it did.......and the next eleven years saw us crowned champions twice, win the Cup twice and appear in several more Wembley finals and lift our first (and only) European trophy.

The problem now, for me anyway, is that if they do get this Title over the line this season, there appears to be no route back to the top for us in the foreseeable future :(

I know some Super Blues on here try to tell us “oh I have no interest in rhat they do....I only care about Everton” but I suspect that attitude is a luxury afforded only to fellows whom do not live in this city and would not have to put up with all the hullabaloo on their own doorstep which will accompany a Kopite title win.

So IMO a new era of RS success will be much harder to take.

+1

It is precisely because we have lived through it before and know how in yer gob it was even when football was unfashionable in the mainstream media that we are dreading the overkill in an era when said mainstream media is obsessed with football in general and the RS in particular.

My eyes hurt.

In a period of 8 days United go to Barcelona and then come to Goodison, before the City games, hopfully they are worn out.

United won’t lay a glove on City, neither will Spurs.

If there’s any danger it’ll be complacency against a competent but perceived weaker team like Palace away.

For me there is no danger, City will win all the league games they’ve got left imo. I think they’re going to win the quad and surpass United’s treble.

You give us all hope, mate. Thank you.
