As much as I would dread the ensuing sickening circus if they did win it, Im buoyed by the very thought of them being pipped at the post this season. Its been poor competitively...with Chelsea Arsenal and Utd all falling apart to give a two horse race. They wont all do that again surely.

Here’s the difference, Dan.

Back in the late 70s/early 80s when they were sweeping all before them and we were struggling at times, you always knew our day would come pretty soon.

And in 1984 it did.......and the next eleven years saw us crowned champions twice, win the Cup twice and appear in several more Wembley finals and lift our first (and only) European trophy.

The problem now, for me anyway, is that if they do get this Title over the line this season, there appears to be no route back to the top for us in the foreseeable future :(

I know some Super Blues on here try to tell us “oh I have no interest in rhat they do....I only care about Everton” but I suspect that attitude is a luxury afforded only to fellows whom do not live in this city and would not have to put up with all the hullabaloo on their own doorstep which will accompany a Kopite title win.

So IMO a new era of RS success will be much harder to take.
A lovely response which I agree mostly with.
I do take exception to your comment about people like myself who do not live in the Merseyside conurbation and whom you reckon won't be exposed to the hullabaloo you mention.
Let me assure you imo the behaviour of their provincial fan based can be every bit as excessive as those living in and around the city. The pub going TV melts around here will be well evident by new shirts and regalia.

Just looked at their fixtures and kick off times. Checked against the next round of champions league. The next round of the champs league is the 30th. Liverpool at home to huddersfield has been moved back to the Friday while city's game away to Burnley has been put forward to the Sunday the 28th. Their games are all at the maximum break between them. Who'd have thought it.

Try dealing with Irish kopsh%$&s!

Haha, what a pathetic club, I'd be ashamed to support a team who can't win one single game on merit, they've beaten all of the relegation fodder in the last month or so with helping hands.

Such a joke this league. The BBC reporter actually called someone who tweeted in weird because they said the pl is a joke because of all the decisions going in the top 6's favour. They were spot on, not weird.

@Frank1981 i see you agree with my comment

No, I am not suggesting for one moment that every non Merseyside fan is of that opinion.

I have many Blue relatives in Ireland, Canada, Australia and the States who will be as devastated as you and I will be if the worst comes to the worst.

And I lived down that London in the 80s and still meet many southern based ESCLA boys at games and they will feel the same.

What I am saying is that those among us who do hold those views...those who berated us when we said we wanted to City to win at Goodison in February because they “don’t care what that lot do etc., etc.”.....would typically, though probably not exclusively, be based outwith the city of Liverpool and the Merseyside region.

Apologies to your good self and any other out of town Blues who misunderstood the point I was making :)

I live in Manchester so I'm OK. I feel more sorry for my brother cos he lives in Liverpool and his colleagues are kopites.

Man United will be the absolute worst for City. Spurs may bottle it.
