Sake Dave
It;s true. They draw that game and the momentum stops and they lose more than those two points, they lose or draw in other games soon after and City get the boost and minimize theor Christmas losses.

It was THE key moment in this title race.

The moment they won the title.

So Dave... let's say that both they and City win all of their remaining games, meaning City retain by a point, would you then say that the Goodison 0-0 was the moment they lost it?

Can someone explain to me how he wasn't sent off that? The ref sees it, he actually goes as close as possible to the fella on the deck. That's bloody disgusting that

As there was no reaction from the referee stood 2 feet away, no reaction from Hazard or the physio whom many would assume this nose-clearing was ‘directed’ at (guessing he missed as most would fume if gozzed on) and no reaction from either the watching Chelsea players or the watching Chelsea bench... it’s probably safe to assume that it was all pretty innocent / innocuous with no malice and, ultimately, no offence or damage caused.

Because its 0-0, and a red card could lead to Chelsea winning the game and City the title, and the ref and his family would be perseciuted for the rest of their lives with death threats and maybe more than threats.

It's at moments like that their culture of terror pays dividends. They know it too, which is why they indulge in it.

I think it's absolutely disgusting Dave and I can't believe nothing has been made if that. He can take a step back, turn his head but it's almost like he leans forward when he does it.

Absolutely vile that, actually I shouldn't be surprised that nothing has been said or will get done about it

So you think that's normal behaviour then mate?

I know it is, I just don’t want that nightmare of a mackem biff back in my head.

Cheers Jord, you bell

He won't, because that would be crediting Pickford for actually getting it right. I know us drawing with them definitely jeopardised their title chances at that point.

I’m not defending anything mate. I just don’t think there is anything to really defend or lambast about that particular incident. This was early minutes of the game (so Fabinho would have to be Barton-esque in terms of madness to try something like this while under no provocation), If there was any intent on Fabinho’s part to evacuate his nostrils on Hazard, it was very poorly executed because he didn’t get him or the physio.

I think it looks bad on TV. Personally I was taught that spitting in the street was wrong, but players do it twenty times each in games. Given how many eyes were on them at the time, Azpilicueta was stood 6 yards away, it’s mad that neither Hazard, the physio, any other Chelsea player, Sarri, Zola or the coaching staff were complaining or going as mental as many watching fans did (and have on Twitter since).

One can only assume, those closest to the incident didn’t see anything wrong in what he did either.

Wow, this is a new Saint Domingo.

I’ve thought for the past few weeks that City would slip up and tbh that is still very much at the back of my mind but the way the media and Liverpool fans are almost expecting a Liverpool win is taking the pressure off City I think. They’re absolutely gliding through games at the moment and whereas they were looking a bit ropey a few games ago De Bruyne seems to have kicked them on a level again. That combined with United being completely outplayed at home by Barca PSG Burnley West Hama and Watford allied with the injuries to Kane and Alli mean that it’s not completely incomprehensible for City to win both of those games. I also don’t think that given Liverpool’s performance at Fulham and for 80 minutes at Southampton that the games against Cardiff or Newcastle will be the walkovers everyone is expecting.

City are the best team in this league no question, and if fate conspires against them and they get sucker punched once and lose it then so be it. But since Newcastle there hasn’t been a game home or away that they haven’t completely dominated in the league. The media are so quick to write them off but this is a side that won 18 games in a row last season and even Liverpool couldn’t beat them this season. I just don’t think it’s as in the bag as the kopite media think it is. They’d have been looking at today as a potential banana skin for City, away at a counter attacking team after an away mid week CL game on the back of an FA cup semi, no Fernandinho. City strolled through it like it was nothing.

It’s on a knife edge but if any side could waltz away with the next five games without even breaking sweat it could be City.

It won’t. It will be directed at everyone, with us right at the top of the list, especially after our fans’ embarrassing crowing after the 0-0 draw. Singing “you’re gonna win f-all” at them in March. We’ve brought it on ourselves once again.

I was relieved at the time but I agree with you the celebrating seemed OTT. Said at the time I was amazed how much Klopp lost his head with it.
