ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

They sold Coutinho for 142 million and bought an entire midfield for the same price.

From Milner,Henderson and Dutch guy to Keita Fabinho and Fekir is a vast upgrade,it's next level and those players are 23-24 years old.

Not sure how much they have to spend but they need a GK upgrade.
And when they still don’t win anything all of those players will be pushing to leave.

That Liverpool team now look like Football Manager dream but still dont think they be consistent enough to challenge City for title

On paper but Fabinho or Keita could flopp, no one knows how players adapt like Bakyaoko at Chelsea who was fantastic at Monaco. Losing Can for nothing is a bit of a blow who could probably fetch £30 million in the current daft market.

You have certainly improved in quick timing mind, just a shame City and Utd will also spend big.
Bakayoko certainly wasnt fantastic at that great Monaco season,it was Bernardo Silva,Lemar,Mendy,Fabinho and Falcao who were standouts, there was never much talk about Bakayoko

Somehow, I think you know exactly how much they have to spend

This summer is vital for us. Get it wrong and it's getting difficult to imagine how we'll ever close the gap.

Even ignoring this insane run of good transfers they are on, the gap has grown even further this summer with the news about CL revenues and today's news about the PL overseas split.

This should be the point of the year for unbridled optimism but they are ruining even that, with their fast start to the window shining unforgiving light on our 'sell to buy' policy.
I was shocked this morning to read about the international tv money.

It's all pointing to a closed shop European Super League IMHO (Spurs and City shouldn't be in it with their lack of trophies and international appeal)

Worrying times though.

Would it not be a good thing if a few of them just buggered off to a european super league?
I would prob say utd and liverpool with there global brand, chelsea with there recent history and city with there money could go.
Arsenal and spurs could stay.
Would it not make enland competitive again?

Keita, Fabinho, Fekir

On paper those are huge upgrades and very impressive signings. Get a good goalie and CB and they have on paper the best squad they’ve had in absolutely ages. Hopefully some of them flop or can’t settle...

They seem to be very good at getting their business done early.

On paper yes. But (and this is my hope, not what i can think). There are numerous examples of players coming over from these leagues, with the reputation they have and just not doing the business.
Granit xhaka was seen as the best midfielder in the bundesliga before he moved to arsenal and he has been average at best.
You go to the french league and you think what we all thought when chelsea signed bakayoko from monaco, who is to say fabinho and fekir could be similar?
Angel de maria came to this league and flopped.
Memphis Depay couldnt get a kick for man utd and now he is excelling in the same team as fekir.

Again im not saying this will be the case, more that it is my hope.
Throw in now a very bloated midfield were a few players may get unhappy, i wouldnt be booking holidays to get away for there title winning parade just yet.

I agree lid your Rumblelows cup propels you into the super league catergory, who will ever forget that epic battle with world giants Birmingham

They sold Coutinho last season to pay for a lot of this. Might have cost them the CL, but yeah we’re the only club that sell to buy.

I think thwy’ll find space for the current champions of England, isbhw more worries about the no marks who haven’t had a sniff of their league title in over a quarter of a century. It would be embarassing to present them in that company. Spanish title holder, European champions, Europa League champions, Italian double winners, German double winners, some team that scraped in 4th.

They won our hearts in Kyiv. They won our minds in the June transfers. They won our league in November.

And do you know what the rs are doing right now? Working out how to get a 25 man collective concussion diagnosis in December when they've been Ramossed again.

Awaiting the report from the Massachusetts John Henry Memorial Brain Damage Clinic's verdict on Klopp. "Excessive gurning and ranting are clear signs of being abused by Sergio Ramos being in the same hemisphere."
