If they don't win it this year they will be flat as pancakes..... literally everything they could do right they have done, everything that could go their way has gone their way ...

That XG stat which basically gives a goals vs expected goals based on chances has them scoring far more points than they should.

Surely next year with VAR it will hinder them.... the sheer number of dodgy penalties and offsides has been unreal.

Real Madrid need to come in for VVD and Salah

I think that Mane is the one I'd snaffle if I was one of the big boys. Get him in and a few of the big teams would purr. United, PSG, or Real all need that dynamic attacking player to push them to greater heights. I even think he'd be a good buy for City.

VVD will be off if he gets the nod - can you imagine the advice from national coach Moonhead if Barca were interested? Salah is in a crucial point now for selling? His stock cannot be any higher than it is now. If he stays and Liverpool tank, then he's blown it. If he goes off to Real then he will probably have (as close as is possible) a guarantee to win stuff- even ballon d'or territory starts opening up. Also Liverpool probably would realise the best return from him about now.

It's crucial for them to succeed otherwise they could lose some key players. Be fascinating to see what goes on over at the pit if they come out with no trophy this season. They have balanced their books well in the last few seasons, but the Southampton well is dry and key people like Milner are close to the end. I wouldn't be surprised if Robertson or Arnold-Alexander need a bit of a rest and their form goes a bit awry for a while due to their age and intensity of this season. It's a big ask to get a similar quality level of 1st team.

I think for their benefit, it's really key to win the league or CL. Otherwise, a couple of transition seasons to get back to these levels is very easy to envisage, even if they do everything perfectly and everything comes off. Of course, I am hoping that the wheels come off, but I can see that meaning 'only' having 80 points next season. (Oh to have an 80 point bad season at Everton!)

Fat Man Rafael will roll over
The German no mark will roll over
Tranny smashing white teeth will go all guns blazing at city

No matter how they dress this up, they are in the position of being second favourites right now because they blew a ten point lead over City.

Happen they do fail to win it, I believe it will be the first time a team so far in front on New Year’s Day has failed to close the deal.

I am keeping my powder dry right now in Kopite company but by ‘eck I will be lett8ng them have it with both barrels if things pan out for the good guys over these last three games lol

I am doing the same and it is killing them. All my RS mates know my views on them but my not saying anything is actaully winding them up more.

As you say, I have been here before and so will wait until it's all done BEFORE crowing.

100%

The kopites at work all think I want them to win it tbh

Is it just me that doesn't rate Mane? when I first watched him at Southampton I was genuinely amazed he was a professional footballer. VVD is the only one that is genuinely world class at the pit in my opinion, and he's still overrated.

They have to win it this year. Next year could easily see them picking up key injuries, keepers not throwing balls into their net, VAR disallowing offsides and non penalties, they could find themselves back in the top 4 pack. The stars aligned for them this year with City riddled with injuries and absolutely everything going Liverpool’s way. If City don’t slip up those Liverpool players will start to think they may never win it.

They have exceeded XG in every season under Klopp though. It isn't really that surprising teams that counter press and win the ball high up the pitch usually exceed XG. The other thing is that XG is just an average and the top players are always likely to be above XG.

As for VAR I keep hearing it being trotted out and then they play games that have VAR and it seems to come to their assistance rather than have a negative effect.

Mane is pretty good like, just look at his stats
