It’s not coming down to goal difference. If City lose a game then Liverpool are not going to slip up.

Salah trying to win himself the golden boot at the end of that game is exactly the sort of individual mentality that meant he passed up a CL final to make sure the World Cup could be all about him. Even though City could well let it slip now, Liverpool’s best chance of a trophy as soon as City got past United became the CL. The chances of Liverpool getting past Barca in 2 legs is at least under their control rather than hoping that a team who have won 11 PL games in a row will slip up to Burnley Leicester and Brighton.

It's very tantalising at the moment: It's favourite that Liverpool end up with nothing if the games in both competitions they're in play out as you'd expect them to.

On the GD issue: Klopp may have been thinking that if Liverpool draw one of their last two games (and it is a possiblity given the proximity of the CL games to each - preparation time, nervous energy spent etc), then if City lose one and win two they could edge them out on GD....or could have got near them if they;d put another 3 in last night. It's not likely now in any event.

Because he wants to stop City, I guess. So he's going to go balls to the wall against bottom feeders like Huddersfield. Not that it'll affect either Salah or Mane, neither of those two seem to get worn out or injured.
