ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

how can they decide player of the year with the 2 most important games still to go. VVD might make a Gerrard style slip (hope!) that costs them the league meanwhile Sterling scores a hatrick to overturn a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 win. Oh yeah sorry but we already gave VVD the POTY

City could end up this season winning a domestic treble on the back of a season when they broke 100 points. Liverpool could end up another season empty handed yet Salah and Van Dijk have been player of the year. If I was Bernardo Silva Sterling or Laporte I’d be fuming. Like seriously apart from run his gob off in the media at every given opportunity what has Van Dijk done on the pitch that Laporte hasn’t? Nothing.

Second is no better than fourth. What's a couple million quid to these teams spending 75m on individual players? Both places go directly into the Champions League group stage. To finish on 97 points will be a dagger to the heart of Liverpool if it doesn't get them the title. Salah has one last transfer in him; does he want to finish his career at Liverpool knowing that City are going to be favourites to win again next year when he can get better wages and win titles elsewhere?

Made a terrible rash challenge in the last min of a match between two title chasers.

If Mahrez scored that, the title would have been over by the time they did the award. It was pure luck on van dijk's behalf that mahrez missed it. Can you really vote someone poty who could have been the difference in the title?

salah will go regardless, anything close to 150m they will sell, barca cant sign him until 2020 so it will have to be madrid.

his 27 in june pace is essential to his game, he has 3-4 years left

I hope Liverpool keep the front three. Fed up of them getting ridiculous fees for players past their best like Torres and Coutinho. Firmino and Salah might only have another season or two at the level they’re at, better Liverpool keep them into their decline rather than selling for world record fees allowing them to rebuild .

barcelona should do what west ham and cardiff did and not water the pitch, seems to affect the way they play
Are you talking about a team that is one of the most celebrated passing teams in the history of the game, even if it is on the wane compared to its loftiest of heights, that include possibly one of the most divinely gifted manipulators of a football that has ever been seen having to dry their pitch out to counteract Liverpool's most likely tactic of quick counter-attacking and stifling Barca's passing?

How about water the pitch, get it perfect and let Barca whizz it around at speed and outpass the rs until they fall over dizzy and fatigued as they chase shadows all night?

They're gonna be compact and lump it into the channels for Salah and Mane to chase. Not a chance they go anywhere near trying to out football them. If anything the dry pitch would suit the RS as the ball would stick more after VVD has lumped it up for the 82nd time of the 1st half.

I saw that it was Havrey posting and regret rising to the bait.

This is a great point, they get these fees and reinvest in talent, it has to stop or eventually they will over take city
