not an RS fan, but you clearly seem to have a bias when comparing these players, just to put down their players. Pogba and Mane play different positions, so do Firmino and Sterling. And again Phil Jones and Robertson. If youre gonna compare maybe atleast compare players in the same position. Martial/Lingard/Sanchez vs Mane, Shaw/Young vs Robertson, Firmino vs Aguero/Jesus, would be the right comparisons to make. I dont know what the stats will say about these comparisons but Sanchez vs Mane seems a more fair comparison than to compare Pogba who is a CM/AM to Mane who is clearly a winger.
Joined May 1st and defend them. Hello Lad

yeah because I had so much against Everton on May 1st when where both teams were was inconsequential right? Read my introduction post from a few days ago and you will know where I stand regarding both teams. I am not defending them but if you are going to make unfair comparisons then it just makes us look like idiots. If I compare Firmino to Aguero or Jesus, I am pretty sure Aguero would come out on top. Sterling vs Mane or Salah would be a better shout, and I am pretty sure Sane and Sterling both were on par with Mane if not better this last season. Pretty Sure Young was a more consistent RB than TAA was this last season too. I am all for comparing players while the comparisons are fair. In what fair comparison would you pit Pogba against Mane?

Ok mate, apologies, take it easy.

haha sorry about getting riled up. But just for clarification, I am a Schalke supporter in the Bundesliga lol. I have an affinity for Everton in the EPL, but I do follow all other teams from City to West Brom with an equal interest. you'll never see me defend a rival team on here. Pretty sure Martial came in to EPL with a Ballon D'or clause in his contract and he doesnt look anywhere near it right now. So I dont get the hype around Fekir/Fabinho, only time will tell about that. I only pointed out those comparisons because they seemed way too unfair from a somewhat neutral point of view.

You like the CL final, mate?

Well then you can only compare players who always play in exactly the same position.

Of anything Mane plays in an easier position to get a high score.

Same with Robertson and Jones.

Sanchez beat Mane btw.

Anyway, it was just to highlight why the giddy folk on RAWK using these 'super stat packs' to convince themselves this year is going to bet their year are being kind of silly.

I have always been someone who roots for the underdog, so the fact that Madrid won it didn't really make me happy tbh. Having said that, I blame it on Liverpool's poor display in those 90 mins after all the talk about being the best team in CL this season for the loss. Don't think it was anything to do with Karius getting concussed (he did make 2 good saves after the collission with Ramos, so all that concussion talk is just a poor excuse). They failed to show up when it counted and thats on them. I would have supported any team against Madrid whether it was Liverpool or Everton or any other underdog.

"soft spot" for Everton, from a US (maybe not) based Indian Schalke supporter.

Tis the way of the modern football world I guess.

Going to university in upstate New York, SUNY Albany to be more specific if you want to google that. Being from India I don't get to have a pick of a local indian team which is even worth watching. I only got into football because sometime very long ago I bought a copy of the Fifa 2005 and started playing with Rangers FC with no clue who the biggest teams in football were. Over time I found myself playing in the bundesliga a lot and specially with Schalke and thats how they became my favorite team. Everyone has a journey on how they find their team I suppose haha, dont judge :coffee::D

Wasnt judging mate.

Just telling the forum that you happened on Everton, while also supporting Schalke. Like I said, its the modern (global) football world. Us long time UK fans dont really understand it.

I totally get that, and I am sorry if I came off as rude. Its just that I was never a cricket fan, and none of the american sports appealed to me either. So I had to go out and look for a team which I felt I could belong to I guess. I get Schalke might be an odd choice for a random person like me, but that affection was based off of me happening on FIFA in the early years and playing the video game more than I actually watched the games on tv back then. It is prob the same for all foreign supporters of english clubs. I just love this game and try to be as involved as possible with all that is going around.

If anything the site proves my point. You're just picking a few stats to suit your argument but if you look at it in the grander scheme, Keita is in another sphere.

Going by that site he has a rating of 7.65 in an advanced midfield role (the position he will be playing for us). If this was Champ Manager (those were the days), with a rating like that i would be letting my interest be known. Sigurdsson with a rating of 6.88 which is a fair reflection.

Keita also ended up with a rating of 7.6 in the 16/17 season.

Looking at Fekir's rating for the season, it's at 7.86. Pretty incredible. As comparison, Salah had a rating of 7.48 at Roma.

I mean a site like that which uses advanced stats to compile a rating score has all of Fabiano, Keita and Fekir with one of the best scores in their respective positions in all of Europe.

Surely if you try your best to remove bias, you can agree that all the indicators are that they are all elite signings.

Next year again will it be mate? Just need one more. Following your APLT and Lawro gets you idiots in bother in the real world.

You finished fourth. This winning without winning anything you do is hilarious. You won the same as us again this year - you drew with us twice in the league in my world - same as you we both did against West Brom who get relegated. The Premier League Cup in Asia doesn’t really count does it? Or does it.

The last time you won the league I was at school. Funnily enough the last time we won it, I was there also. I’ve had nearly thirty years of the next year being yours....had you given me a tenner double or quits since the last time you did, Id be richer than Fenway Sports Group. And I would have left you to go bankrupt as you prostituted your brand around the world to any poor bugger who would clear your debts. But your hilarious, a financially convenient subsidising franchise of a of an American MLB team.

You know what, it could be your year next year....just need more money, more time and more luck eh!!
