ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

This is a far easier game than Palace, Spurs, United, or Burnley were. If we were at home to Leicester I’d expect a convincing win and City are multiple levels above us, that the disparity between the sides. The only way City don’t win is through a freak occurrence of wasteful finishing by them and unbelievable finishing from Leicester or a refereeing stitch up (not beyond premier league officials this season). If it’s a normal game though then there’s only one winner at the Etihad. They’ve had all week to prep for this, the players are fresh, it’s their sole focus now. No one would even be asking the question if this was Liverpool playing Leicester at Anfield.

Despite the win last night no one would swap the positions of City and Liverpool. Two games against non top 6 teams to win the league. Liverpool would bite your hand off for that.
Correct.

Mick Lyons far post header to put us 1-0 up against them. Ref disallowed it for 'climbing' over Alec Lindsay - replays showed no such thing. Two minutes later a no-mark called Alan Waddle (Chris's cousin) shinned one in for them for the only goal. 1973 I think - long memory!!
December. Was in Iran on my first trip as Junior Engineer.

And I always thought our long history of bad luck and shocking decisions against us with the RS began with Bryan Hamilton's disallowed goal.

Seems it goes back further!

If they win nothing again this season, can see one or two players getting itchy feet. However, if he goes one more season without anything to show I think we will see quite a few Coutinho & Suarez situations.

Mane and Salah will be 28, Firmino and Van Dijk 29 so next year will be their last to make big money moves. That will be a massive issue and a likely scenario while Pep is at City winning everything.
That’s a very good point actually there good players are smack bang in there prime there window unless they replace well is probably 2-3 years max. Whilst city have Sterling, Jesus, B Silva, Sane, Stones, Laporte, Ederson, Mendy, Foden all 25 ish and under.

Pool has Robertson, TAA, Kiera and Fabinho

I know which mob I’m taking

Yeah mate, I thought so, thought my memory was playing tricks with me. Was probably at the game. Can you remember Wayne Clark's or am I imagining it.

That Disdin goal was feckin disgraceful.
But its rarely mentioned.
That one was the very first game after they had one wrongly ruled out at goodison. One decision goes against them after the years and years of them going for them in derbys and they made it up to them at the bery first opportunity.

Battle of the bastards
Was talking to a mate of mine who was there, seems like the barcodes had a few outside looking for it, if what he said they were singing about outside the ground, is true i wouldnt blame the kopites for getting into them.
What, Hillsborough songs? I really hope not.
