Not at all.

I find Scousers to be well regarded in most countries....The Beatles is always a great reference point :)

It is only in England I find animosity toward us based solely on geography.
I meant that in most countries different regions dislike other regions.
You won't find many good words for Mancs, Cockneys, Geordies, soft Southerners, et all on this site. It's just the way it is.

I'm a scouser and I do not hate England. Like most people in the world I support my own country's national football team. It might be hip to say you don't but it's also hip to have a stupid beard and stupid tattoos.

I'm not concerned about the England team. Has been the case ever since I realised the national team was London-centric to the detriment of better non-London-based players. Storey of Arsenal won loads of caps, what did Kendall get in his prime?

And if you look through successive England teams over the decades, you will see that same recurring theme. How do you think they try to fill Wembley for international? Not by picking the best, but by ensuring there are sufficient London-based players in the team to pull in all the cockneys and London fringe supporters. Take Lampard, for example. Fine when he knocked in the odd goal. Aside from that, his contribution to influencing midfield? Zilch. What about Carragher (please forgive me for using his name)? He saw what was going on - in the squad, not getting any pitch time behind far poorer players. Ergo he retired from internationals. He could see behind the facade. Blue-eyed players getting in ahead of talented players. Why do you think the best Manager of his time never got the England job (Clough)? Because he wouldn't have subscribed to that 'London-based' crap, as well as not being an FA 'yes man'.

England team = London based, and favourites. Beckham, well past his best, was still being selected and playing ahead of real young talent. Lallana & Henderson in recent times - do me a favour!!! Dier of Spurs... Lingard of the Mancs...

Carragher? Really!

Carragher? Really!

Unfortunately, he was a decent defender, a past master at fouling in the penalty area and getting away with it. He bailed on England when he realised crap defenders were getting selected in the starting line-up and he was warming the bench.

Do you think he’s the best example ? Quit England for a couple of years because playing for Liverpool was more important , in his own words . then having taken no part in qualifying came back for the ‘glory’ of a World Cup predominantly, again in his own words , to help his mate Stevie out.

aye was disgraceful that, couldn't be bothered doing the long trips for qualifying but showed up for the world cup, at least scholes had the morals to say no, shame as he would have made a difference unlike 'carra' who was little more than a yard dog

Carragher was ousted, at various times, by Ferdinand, Campbell, Terry, Woodgate, Ledley King....every single one was comfortably better than that cart horse.

There are examples of poor players playing instead of better ones....Carragher really is NOT a good choice to illustrate the point.

Threw his dummy out of the pram because Ledley King was in front of him. And who was a far better defender just blighted by injuries.
It's easy to retire from international football when you can't get a game anyway

Salah: on the same level as Messi and Ronaldo.

FFS, has there ever been a more embarrassing overhype?

Back to being a bit part player in a team that isn't at the races for major trophies. Just a winger with a head like a burst cushion who had a flash in the pan season courtesy of the embarrassing lack of quality at LB in the PL.
lol lol ...brilliant mate

I can only guess that you and Carra are related in some way.

He is but one example of lesser southern-based players being considered more favourably in the England set-up. That's all.
