Spoke to a Kopite mate of mine this morning, and his statement about the CL was "we HAVE to win against Spurs now"

The difference missing out on the league has made is huge, it'll certainly ramp up the pressure. They know if they end this season with nothing all the plaudits, all the awards, all the luck will have been for nothing. It'll be relief for them if they win the CL now, not joy.

The way I see it.

I've lived through a European cup win. It was fine. Hard to be wound up about a trophy we have never won.

However the league title means more to them. Carries more weight and with Alex overhauling them in the prem era, that 19-18 kills them far more than winning another European cup would plug that gap

The rate the Champions League is going the bloody league Cup will have more prestige in about 5 years.

Do I want them to win.... Of course not

But between the league or CL it is the lesser of two evils.

It doesnt have the same sting to it that the league does, not with me anyrate. Its prestigious, obvs, but all it ultimately proves is they beat Spurs in a one off match. The winners of the league are The Best Team That Whole Season.

Not according to The RS. Many now climbing on the "champions league is bigger than the prem" ship. Some claiming city winning all 3 domestic trophies is not as important as a champions league win. They act like they have already won it. Total disrespect to Spurs who I hope are showing their players some of these comments. Utter bells, and the RS pundits can do one.
