Hillsborough took the best part of 30 years to get the bare minimum of appropriate action taken. It needs to be heard and repeated because the actions of those in power were a disgrace before, during and after.

Many fans stayed away from Hillsborough that year because of their experience the year before. It was a disaster waiting to happen that almost did happen on prior occasions.

Let's not confuse rivalry and us rubbing their noses in losing the league and their entitled mannerisms with their fight for justice. Their tenacity and our support has seen that case come a long way. It's about human rights - 96 fans never returned home to their loved ones because of mismanagement and negligence and Thatcher and her cronies pinned the blame on drunken Scousers.

Things like this will continue to plague the working class, disability benefits cuts leading to deaths/suicides, soldiers dying homeless on our streets, all part and parcel for that lot in power.

This. All of it.

Hillsborough goes above and beyond football, which is why I get sick of it being used as a gotcha or a way of exonerating Liverpool fans from being arseholes.

We will never hear the end of it because it's a tagline. It's a marketing tool just like 'you'll never walk alone'. None of their fans believe in either of them, they just blindly follow because that's what the rest of the sheep are doing.

I always find it bizarre when a Liverpool fan writes something nasty and/or rude and signs it off with 'YNWA'. Like 'we enjoy laughing at you, YNWA'. We enjoy laughing at you, you'll never walk alone? That just weird. Maybe we should all reply with 'kopites are gobshites, NSNO'.
