So to paraphrase the RS have a sh#t squad, overrated manager, are desperately overpaying to keep hold of flash in the pan nomarks, are nearly bankrupt, and are bottlers miles away from winning anything? And it’s all very worrying for them? They must be terrified....

Nice to see we’ve got our perspective razor sharp and grounded in reality still.

I’ve been gone for 10 years from here but what have you lot have been smoking in that time.

Not really mate. To paraphrase, Liverpool have made significant investment over the last 12 months in players, stepping up in speed from anything seen under FSG and somewhat reminiscent of what happened under H & G. They look to have recruited well and have a good manager to lead them. However if they do not deliver a return soon, much like what happened under Benitez it could unravel quite quickly as it's opaque how this increase on spend will be funded.

If I were a Liverpool fan I'd be excited about the new season, and hopeful that a talented coach can get the team to not just perform well, but actually win something as there are moments in time you need to consolidate that. Newcastle in the mid 90's played great football, but missed their moment.

20 million pound to extend his contract by 12 months, when you are desperate you will pay anything.

I don't think he was paraphrasing you, but most others on this thread.

What are your realistic expectations for next season then skamp. Klopp has invested heavily over the last 12 months so how long does he get to deliver some silverware .
I think if there are 1 or 2 more significant signings (£35m+ players), there will be definitely be pressure to win a trophy of sorts. Top 4 is a must and to be in the running in the prem till the latter stages. QF of the CL.

I think the brand of football and the way the fans are with Klopp means there's less pressure on him than the likes of Benitez, who invested heavily but played more pragmatic football.

He'll be given more time than most even if it doesn't all go swimmingly, I reckon.
