I think if there are 1 or 2 more significant signings (£35m+ players), there will be definitely be pressure to win a trophy of sorts. Top 4 is a must and to be in the running in the prem till the latter stages. QF of the CL.

I think the brand of football and the way the fans are with Klopp means there's less pressure on him than the likes of Benitez, who invested heavily but played more pragmatic football.

He'll be given more time than most even if it doesn't all go swimmingly, I reckon.
Fair assessment. What if you fail to finish top 4 ?
Obviously both Manchester clubs will strengthen again as will spurs Chelsea and Arsenal... gonna be a tough competition for top 4 I reckon

You know, if a certain P. Guardiola wasn’t so proud and egotistical and didn’t fall right into Klopp’s tactical trap, there’d be about 1/10 as much hype surrounding that lot going into the season.

You'll never walk alone!' Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp sends message of hope to football boys trapped by flood waters in Thai cave.......

I expect they will all be rescued wearing RS shirts flown in specially.....Never one to miss a trick.....

Would refuse all help from that lot, particularly if my predicament was being surrounded by walls

Agreed - competition for top 4 is probably tougher then ever. City start favourites and are strengthening and I'm sure most people expect them to retain the title. Expect Liverpool & Utd to have the edge on the others, but it will be difficult. If Liverpool don't finish top 4, it will deffo be a failure, particularly if another £60-70M is spent and it will be interesting to see how the owners react to that. given the seemingly good relationship Klopp has with them.

Jurgen Klopp stands by Loris Karius as Liverpool boss reveals impact concussion had on his Champions League final
Jurgen Klopp believes Loris Karius' nightmare Champions League final can be attributed to the concussion sustained on the night.

And the Liverpool boss revealed how German football legend - and close friend - Franz Beckenbauer initially told him of the possibility.
Karius has returned to Melwood this week and will be backed by the club, although they continue to explore the possibility of bringing in reinforcements in goal ahead of the new season.

Klopp has backed Karius to put the Champions League final behind him, and thinks the concussion was '100% the explanation'.

"That’s how it is," he said. "You make a mistake against Chester and it’s a mistake. If you make a mistake in a Champions League final, it’s a mistake you cannot change anymore, even if you want to – and we all want to.
“He was influenced by that knock, that is 100 per cent. What the rest of the world is making of it, I don’t care. It’s really not important what the people say. We do not use it as an excuse.

“Now people could think for us it is the explanation – and for me it is 100% the explanation and that’s all.”

Opening up on how he discovered the possibility from Beckenbauer, Klopp added to Liverpoolfc.com: “It’s all normal here. I don’t know exactly what people think or made of the situation. The only thing I can say is he had a concussion in the game.
“With all the intensity of the game, adrenaline and the disappointment after the game, nobody really thought about that. I needed a few days, to be honest, to accept the fact and deal with the situation. It was not that easy.

“After four days I got a call from Franz Beckenbauer, our Bobby Moore, our biggest football player who is a good friend of mine. He called me and said he came from a doctor, he told me: ‘your goalkeeper had a concussion.’ I said, ‘what?’ because in the game, from my position that situation is not very good to see: ‘maybe there was contact or not.’ I told him immediately, ‘OK’. He said the doctor is the most famous doctor in Germany. I said: ‘OK, give me a few minutes, I have to fix a few things.’

“If you ask Loris, he says he didn’t think about it and didn’t use it for a second as an excuse. We don’t use it as an excuse, we use it as an explanation. That’s always important, that’s what analysis should be: you explain why things happen. So, from this point of view, from my side everything is fine. We don’t think about that anymore and we start completely new
.”
