ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I can't agree with that. Alisson is such an upgrade on Karius, it's insane. Since VVD came in, we had the best goals conceded rate since January. With Alisson coming in, our solidity at the back should be even greater. I expect us to concede less than 30 league goals and in fact, you're free to quote me later on, we'll concede fewer than Mourinho's lot. Here are some decent stats on what we have brought:

Expected goals (xG) measures the likelihood of a shot ending in a goal based on several variables such as assist type, shot angle and distance from goal.

Based on quality of shots he faced, Alisson should have conceded 8.31 more goals than he did.

He was the leading goalkeeper in the Serie A Expected Goals on Target (xGOT) standings, which shows how many goals a team should have conceded compared to their actual total.

The only Premier League players to fare better than Alisson last season were Manchester United's David De Gea (+13.66) and Nick Pope (+10.26) of Burnley.

xG prevented
Alisson +8.3
Karius -0.6
Mignolet -0.8

Save %
Alisson 79.3
Karius 68.9
Mignolet 57.3

Save % shots in box
Alisson 72.8
Karius 61.8
Mignolet 47.6

Save % shots out box
Alisson 93.0
Karius 90.9
Mignolet 88.2

Accurate sweepings
Alisson 41
Karius 13
Mignolet 9

Clearances (inc. punches)
Alisson 39
Karius 15
Mignolet 13

Alisson operates in a totally different planet to Karius.

As soon as you use any sort of expected goal stat you immediately invalidate your opinion on anything related to football. Those fantasy invented stats are only good for well, Kopites. I’m sure you’ll be top of all the xLeagues next year apart from the one occuringnin reality where you’ll be battling it out for fourth against a few sides who you are apparently miles better than despite having no empirical evidence whatsoever to prove it.

Maybe James82 we would be engaging if we hadn't heard this boring drivel for the last 28 years. I know a lot of Everton fans find July/August funny because thats when your lot are at your loudest about what you're going to do before inevitably being out the title picture by Christmas most seasons, but I find it utterly tiresome.

You won't finish above Mourinho either. Bookies have you second favourites because 'a fool and their money are easily parted' and you goons have ran to the bookies on the back of a few signings.

Also there is no such thing as a neutral when it comes to Liverpool. You're despised outside of your fan base. See 2014 for this..

I think that you’ll find that fans having bets doesn’t affect the market. Ask James18/5 he’ll put you right.

It’s amazing how he can understand all these stats , graphs and whatever xG’s are but is apparently unable to understand that spareroom dwelling whoppers backing their mighty red men year after year , after year , after year to win the title moves the odds.

Many of our own were calling a strong CL run last summer. They were far from deluded and ended up correct - we reached the CL final.

We'll challenge again for one of the two major trophies, if not both. We challenged for one last season, and expect to do so again this season. Some Liverpool fans are at their loudest right now but it's not like there is no substance behind it, considering we reached the final of the biggest club competition on the planet. If we were shouting out about the teams quality without any evidence of it's talent, then fair enough but that is anything but.

As for the bookies having us as 2nd faves, they opened us as 2nd faves two weeks before last season was to end. Quite a long way from when we made the signings we did. We've genuinely had absolutely no influence on the market and it's plain crazy to suggest so.

There are many neutrals who adore us. During our CL run, i visited many European club forums. They all respect us greatly and were rooting for us through the whole route. The likes of Inter, Milan, Real Madrid and others. The combination of our support, atmosphere, playing style and Klopp has enamoured most neutrals all around Europe. A bit like Dortmund a few years back, everyone has taken to us all over Europe.

lol

Are you multi linguistic?

Or are you merely deluded?

That is something else. So Liverpool fans have knocked the price down to such an extent that they're influencing the market? Yes that is possible in small margins but in no way can a fanbase hold such an influence.

You do know when the prices opened at the end of last season, we opened as 2nd favourites, This was way before we signed who we have,

The bookies clearly use performance models or whatever else to determine the price, and could see how we should be 2nd faves. Of course the bookies can get it wrong at times and it's up to us to do the talking on the pitch.

Funny thing is it's not just the bookies or us wacky deluded reds. Neutrals all around the land have us best set as City's likely challengers.

I mean is the human race in general a bit deluded and biased towards us then?
I listened to Fred done some years ago, he said all bookies advertise to Liverpool fans this time of year, they can't get enough of them, he finished by saying Liverpool fans alone always pay for his holidays.

Found it on RAWK. You have to understand when the scouting network operates in this way, then it's quite normal for the fanbase to take an interest in this methodology.

If other clubs in this league adopted this approach, maybe they'll be as successful as we have been in the transfer market and in building the elite team that we possess now.

Not sure how you can mock this sort of analysis to judge a player. Of course your eye for a player comes first, but stats hold a big say in this current time and it will continue to grow as time goes on.

Elite team?

Please do tell
