The world according to davek; what an interesting pace to inhabit...Stop saying Liverpool lost it. YOU and the other Kopites lost it. You killed your own team's chances of landing the title after 27 years at that time.
Well done.

So if the fans hadn't been "piling on the pressure", they'd have won? They went to Kiev piling pressure on a team about to face the best team in the world. Even chimpanzees when they get shock treatment for choosing the wrong option eventually choose not to repeat their actions in the end. The kopites are baisically less intelligent than chimps.
With respect, there's really no forensic analysis on earth that could deny just how this really was thrown away. For all Gerrard's tribal pitch huddle, he played such an intrinsic role in the debacle by not controlling his gung-ho team mates at Palace when 3 up....and kamikaze play v Chelsea yet emerged relatively unscathed from criticism over there. Im pretty sure with their usual damage limitation, the total collapse is rarely spoken of....apart from of course the usual mantra that "morally, we deserved to win the League though, La"City had 2 games in hand, both of which they won to have a superior goal difference and be only 3 points behind. The Chelsea defeat put City in pole position with 2 games to go. But don't let facts get in the way of a good narrative.
3 games left were H Chelsea A Palace and H Newcastle and 2 wins and a draw would have won it. Bottled the Chelsea and Palace games no two ways about itCity had 2 games in hand, both of which they won to have a superior goal difference and be only 3 points behind. The Chelsea defeat put City in pole position with 2 games to go. But don't let facts get in the way of a good narrative.
So 1 defeat in the last 19 league games constitutes "total collapse"? On that basis, pretty much every team totally collapses every season! With respect, there's really no forensic analysis on earth that could deny just how this really was thrown away. I see people comment all the time about how they should have won it that year because the football was so great yet City still scored more goals. They didn't deserve it because they blew it and people still believe that crapWith respect, there's really no forensic analysis on earth that could deny just how this really was thrown away. Yes, they would. So if the fans hadn't been "piling on the pressure", they'd have won?
That's a complete contradiction from absolutely everything you said in the pre-match about Madrid being head & shoulders above Liverpool, "first good team they've played", etc. Were Liverpool a better side than Madrid, but buckled under the pressure, or were Madrid the better side?Yes, they would.
Well done.
You and the rest of the Kopites seen to it that in a season when City and Chelsea weren't on top form and the title was up for grabs you placed that much pressure on your own players they fell at the final fence.
Thanks for that.
Lol - In 2014 in the league, Liverpool won 15 games, drew 3 & lost 1. The defeat ultimately costing the title. Hardly folded and lost a 12 point lead or lost 3 on the trot or anything like that. 1 defeat in 19 cost the league, ultimately.
But whatever keeps you warm at night....
There's no contradiction. Go and read what i said again above. I stated that Liverpool were playing the best team in the world as it was so they could have done without their own swivel-eyed self styled ultras piling more pressure on by expecting the victory. That's a complete contradiction from absolutely everything you said in the pre-match about Madrid being head & shoulders above Liverpool, "first good team they've played", etc. Were Liverpool a better side than Madrid, but buckled under the pressure, or were Madrid the better side?
Make your mind up which way you want it.

Liverpool played that style all season, hence the glut of goals in the campaign.
They've built themselves lately to be the biggest, loudest ultras in Europe but all cry like babies when it goes horribly wrong.Who on earth has denied that they played well throughout the season ???? Nobody. We're talking about the end of the season collapse. Denial on your part though cannot camouflage the stark fact that they publicly pee'd it up against the wall after the Champions T-shirts had been bought by the faithful as a fait accompli. It was a shock to their system which is why grown men (even a journalist) were crying in the stands at Palace (and on the pitch).

You suggested Gerrard was culpable for not controlling the players from being "gung-ho" & "kamikaze". I'm saying Liverpool played like that to get into the position they were in, so weren't going to change in either of the 2 games you cited.Who on earth has denied that they played well throughout the season ???? Nobody. We're talking about the end of the season collapse. No, you said Madrid were the cream of Europe and would give Liverpool a footballing lesson. There's no contradiction. Go and read what i said again above.
