ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Any of yous that have taken the time out to register on here and post , care to explain the thought process gone into that?
In short - just wanted to interact with some Everton fans.
I am from Asia and have been a Liverpool fan for close to 20 years. Been to Anfield 4 times and absolutely loved Liverpool, the city. Just wanted a rival perspective. I get enough of that from United, Chelsea, Arsenal supporters here but have never met an Everton fan. Though it would be interesting to check out an online forum with substantial Everton fans.

I’m an admirer of your work and would definitely like to live in the world that you see.

IT's true though, look at the stats of any pacy goalscorer.

Henry, Andy Cole, Louis Saha, Michael Owen, Anelka, Rooney....their performances all dropped off after 27/28/29 in a way that didn't happen with the likes of Sheringham, Drogba, Bergkamp, Van Persie, Lampard etc.

It's a worry for them. It's a shame really as they've spent so much money but are unlikely to win anything meaningful and if their good luck turns to bad luck then they are in danger of joining Leeds. It's a bit mad in all honesty, but a real possibility.

Salah will be pretty much 28 by the end of next season, same with Mane and Firmino. Players like that tend to peak at 25/26....very few actually improve.
Not really arsed about their defence as it isn't really that great and Allison always has an error in him.

They're where they are because of the front 3 really, lose one of them and it's game over. The fact they're all about the same age and statistically likely to have gone over the hill already then it isn't looking good.

Spunked all their cash on the hopeless Fabinho and Keita (I tried to tell people) and hundreds of millions of pounds in debt...it's a very worrying time for a Liverpool fan if they do anything other than concentrate on the absolute present.

Then there's Milner over 30, Henderson, Lovren VVD, Wijnaldum and Lallana all approaching or already past 30. Set to lose four big players on frees at the end of the season, with four more big players to tie down by the end of next season. It's all a bit of a mess tbh. It's a shame.

I've said it before but i don't think FSG have really got to grips with how football works, it's nothing like baseball and i think the penny's dropped hence their desperate scramble to find someone to buy the club. No takers though, which has go to set alarm bells ringing for any Liverpool fan.

You could argue with facts rather than gifs.
Take your time.
Well you start us off then with some facts, not hysterical opinion based crap. I appreciate it will be difficult but you seem obsessively knowledgable about our biggest rivals so surely you can come out with some facts.

Pacy goalscorers have a shorter shelf life than other players. Historical data shows the drop off starts around about 26 or 27 with literally no record of any player of that ilk improving.

Mane, Firmino and Salah have already all reached that age. It's all downhill from here unfortunately. Which is a shame really as they all cost a lot of money and Salah secured a £7.5m a year (???!!!?!) pay rise on the back of that one good season. It's already looking like it was a bit hasty, a terrible shame really.

They have TWO years at the absolute maximum to win something. Keita and Fabinho are just dross and not cut out for this league, i know they cost about £100m but it looks like all of that has been wasted. It's a shame really. For £80m they could have got Richarlison and Jorginho. :(

I am sorry, I am having trouble understanding if this is sarcasm or a serious post. Our average squad age is amongst the lowest in the league. You are seriously having a go at our squad being too old ?
Salah is 26. He will turn 27 in Jun'19. He has 4 full seasons before he touches 30. Same for Mane. Our fullbacks are 24 and 19. One of our CBs just turned 21 and our GK is 25.
Also, could you please tell us who are the 4 big players on free that we are set to lose at the end of the season?

That again is a hyperbolic opinion based mixture of wishful thinking and outright nonsense. Were are the actual facts ? Where is this historical data that you speak of ? Any chance you show your working ? Links articles etc. you obviously have them at your fingertips as you readily quote them at every opportunity. Would genuinely be interested as its not something I am familiar with.

Ok lets look at the players I used originally.

Thierry Henry - Over twenty league goals a season from the age (at start of season) 24-28. Never once did he repeat that feat, not even in America.
Andy Cole - His last good season was he was 28.
Wayne Rooney - Not quite the same but we can still see the last good season was when he was 28, he was stil a top level operator but could no longer cut it up front, so had to be moved futher back.
Owen - Im sure well know about his regression, can scarcely be arsed to look it up. Just done, his 24yo season was never bettered.
Hasselbaink - Tbf he had a good 29yo season, never bettered after that, steep decline.
Anelka - Finished by the age of 26 really.

Sheringham - One of his best ever season at 34. Albeit in the championship.
Bergkamp - Still going strong well into his 30s.
RVP - Best ever seasons 28 and 29, an unfortunate injury after that.
Shearer - Over 20 league goals at 34.

If you need more then let me know. Thank you.

But can you make a pie chart, heat map, alternative striker league, throw some xG=guff and finally mention low blocks otherwise it means nothing

I`m hearing whispers that Mane and Salah have fallen out, over the fact that Mane feels like he`s become a bit part in the Mo Salah show.

Apparently Mane was passing to anyone other than Salah, against the Spuds at the weekend.

Tonight could be interesting lol
