ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

No, they missed Coutinho when it mattered most last season. Salah is a different story in that he looks a lot more limited than last season and I suspect this is the real Salah now. However, it's all about disruption. January has to be about consolidation for a team serious about the title. If they lose a big name then it will be detrimental to their season.

If they are in the mix, Salah will go no were

We are miles behind and it hurts.

With FFP changing to a £89 million-100 million euros net spend agreed by the cabal of european giants meeting during the international break will Usmanov make a difference with those financial restrictions.

FFP 2.0 next summer, just our luck that we could get a sugar daddy who can't spend his dough.

Just quit it you absolute nonce. Yer ma's found your stash and your jism-stained sock.....

They are awful losers but they are even worse winners.

They’ve scraped a last minute win at home after being 2-0 up and almost blowing it. It’s their first group game.... in September.... come back in May and show me what you’ve won again.

They're on here looking for begrudging compliments they can buzz off.

How they can be looking for them after last night's collapse from 2-0 up I dont know. It underlined what a soft centre they have for me.

They wont win the PL. They wont win the CL.

It's that simple.

Agree with the notion i dont think they will win the CL or PL, but what i would give to throw away a 2-0 lead and still come back to win against PSG.

In hindsight, them getting thorugh the group isnt hte worst thing in the world, a drop down to europa would give them a much better chance of a trophy then the CL so for me, id be happy to see them out in the round of 16 or quarters (providing they dont go on one of them mental runs they go on and end up getting Monaco in the final)

Also, last night tells you about htere are 2 type of mentalitys in football, and there is pretty much nothing we can do about it.

Spurs, who as a club have a very "everton that" mentality despite being a very good team, infact they have there own "everton that" saying. "thats very spursy"! The second that went to 1-1 yesterday, there was only going to be one winner.

Were on the other hand, those tricky reds, with there group of super positive "we are better den everyone", need to find every situation and make it about them mentality, do this sort of thing against the creme de la creme on many ocasions!
That mentality has been hindered slightly over the years, with the final bits and bobs and the stevie g slip. But i feel something as simple as a league cup win could push them paast htat mentality.

Wheras us and spurs will just be sat there waiting for something to go wrong and just shrug our shoulders

They chucked away a lead against sevilla in the group stages last season

They could win the league in theory, yes. The lieklihood though is that City will win...I'd actually have Chelsea as second favourites - they have a free hand this season and can focus on that.

Liverpool will win no major prize. The LC or FA Cup may go their way, but they are a soft touch at the back still IMO and they will be exploited in the CL especially.
They are in the Europa league.

I think you give them too much credit. One major trophy in the last 30 years tells me that they dont have the type of organisational self-belief you attribute to them. This Liverpool squad are stronger than for a few years, that's true enough. But it's all about having real quality in every position x2 when you want to win the PL (you might fluke a CL with less like).

Liverpool haven't got that. They're not at a stage when a position like LB or RB are covered by equal quality off the bench. That's what the real super-powers will all have. While FSG are in control they will never have that...and they'll ALWAYS sell their best players in their prime. They cant build on that.

While they're busy pissing themselves over last night's result they conveniently overlook the fact that they managed to concede two goals on the two occasions they were under any sort of threat, at their tell tale "fortress". Just imagine what a side that actually attacks them but also has a competent defence would do to them!

Oh the nostalgia they evoke...the heady good old days of the Suarez biting excuses and the physiology experts (close relatives of the Uruguayan "negrito" translation experts). You must remember...when those opponents knocked themselves into Suarez's open jaws.

That was it, the bite, cheers. I couldn't remember which incident it was that turned them into body language experts. Seems as though they're at it again.

But doesn't everyone think Thursday/Sunday is a killer schedule ? I don't but it seems to be the accepted wisdom.
They have a squad they'll use. EL = rotate with about three regular starters in it. Preferably they'll go out. I'm sure they wont expend any energy on that tournament and wont. It's a different kettle of fish to the CL.
