But.......but........he's a fraud who's only average..
...but...but...but...take a look at my views on VVD on here and youl'll see they've only ever been about how good he is - even prior to him going to S;'ton when he was at Celtic....in other words, even before you jumped on the VVD bandwagon....,but, but, but....

Sorry I’m going to have to disagree with you . They didn’t shut up about Hillsborough because of lies and a blatant coverups that went through successive governments both Tory and labour , With any politician seeking to support those looking for justice to keep their heads down . They didn’t shut up because lies were repeatedly told about those that had died and they didn’t shut up because if they didn’t they we’d never be where we are today . The lies went so deep even now after apologies and charges some people still believe them.

In my opinion Those that wouldn’t shut up and encouraged others not to shut up deserve nothing but our respect .

I will agree and I’ve said before that the use of JF96 as punctuation alongside YNWA for me isn’t particularly appropriate or respectful and I’ll again agree that the Munich singing has always gone on and on occasion we’ve seen it still does , if you want to respect a tragedy and have it respected then be respectful full stop. I also dislike the echo hijacking the shun the sun when it clearly suits their owners , their continuous running of stories about it both panders to their owners and Liverpool fans and it’s all a bit obvious to honest .

As for the justice campaign it’s one of the most incredible things I’ve seen and they should be immensely proud of their achievements.

a more balanced post we're not likely to find on this thread.

I agree Harry. The JF96 campaign was a credit to everyone. But it wasn't a football club's campaign and it wasn't the possession of Liverpool supporters. It wasn't anything much to do with LFC other than the fact that those who were being fought for just happened to go to a game of football supporting a football team called Liverpool and many perhaps most of their friends and family weren't even Liverpool supporters.

It is an entity apart from football that's had to make use of the football family on occasion to get its case heard.

As for Munich chants: still happening. Nothing was learned by some.

I've always found it funny how most of the media and pundits are always in fear of upsetting the RS, no matter what they get up to the media never condemn them, yet other teams get vilified for the slightest thing. Some of the arse licking as well (Paul Merson being one of the biggest culprits) is so nauseating it's unbelievable.

They know if they eulogise them they stay in a job. A hoarde of twitter orcs will be all over the channels official account saying ‘he’s always been sound that Merson’ etc. The converse is true, one word against them and the bullets are in the post.

My opinion in general terms of that football club is there for all to see here and I love a good rant about them. However whilst I agree the justice campaign and the club aren’t intertwined I do think it is in the possession of the supporters, generally . I think their fan base did an incredible job of keeping thinks relevant as much as anything by never shutting up about it . Trust me as well I’m well aware of the support for the campaign from others but it’s was and always will be a support driven primarily by Lfc fans . That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a disaster for the city as a whole nor that both reds and blues weren’t right behind it.

ADDED after posting : I’ve reread your post Mate and find myself agreeing more than I thought I did . I certainly should take more care to read things carefully before I post especially on a subject like this .

Total agreement with this.

I have nothing but respect for the fight they, and others, put up to ensure this was not brushed under the carpet.

Controversial or not, they have. Flogging gear with references to Hillsborough? What would that be? Many of their fans jumping on everything as "an insult" to Hillsborough to shut down legitimate criticism. If that's not explitation I dont know what is.

They are known at least as much for a stadium disaster these days....in this country....two stadium disasters elsewhere. That's not being disrespectful to those who died btw, it's the very opposite of that.

Heysel and what other?

We're in a minority on this thread then, mate. Most say he's average and "is never seen when the opposition score".
