But.......but........he's a fraud who's only average..

Tp be fair Dave has always been praiseworthy of VVD mate. He made a big case we should have sold Stones the year before we did and sign VVD as well as Mori. We could have signed him the season after, and perhaps the season after that as well. Big mistake not doing so.

Fair enough. Point I was making was more the general consensus on here. Whatever people think of VVD, Liverpool look far more solid since lad Jan.

You've started really well mate. Had a gander on RAWK the other week and it was the usual mis quoting of my posts (bizarrely claiming that I didn't give them any credit when I'd said they'd had a good start).

In all fairness though, I have at pre-season Liverpool would start very strong. This hasn't been a surprise. To be fair to the reds they have beaten PSG and Spurs which were really good win and better performances, which surprised me a bit.

The big challenge is going to be the potential late autumn/winter dip you've had in other seasons. That will be the big challenge.

I'd also say Chelsea and City are big games. It looks like you 3 will be right up there this season. City looked unplayable at times at the weekend.
Done better than I'd have thought so far. Lucky to beat Leicester but been getting results without Salah at full tilt so far.

Long long way to go and City, Chelsea both look strong. As a fan for 40+ years, the last 25 or so have taught me to fear the worst, however well we're doing. So you won't see too much gloating from me whatever the position.

I think a fair bit of it is tongue in cheek.

He's been a great buy and made a huge difference. Probably your most important player.

I probably agree with Klopp in that we don't see Salah at full tilt ever again. He had a wonderful season last year but not sure he will replicate. Thats fine, he will still be a very good player and prove very good value.

Mane is making up some of the shortfall which will help.

The big issue for LFC is going to be if enough of your fans can adopt your position. The last thing your to need is loads of pressure being piled on too early. City and Chelsea have proven winners throughout the team. It might give them a slight edge. We will see, could be a great season.

As it happens, I think there's loads more twists and turns. I remember when City and United won 6 or 7 in a row and it was declared a 2 horse race. In the end neither got near the league and if I remember correctly it was yourselves and then Spurs who ran Chelsea closest. Loads to go yet, and United or Spurs can still get themselves together (I sense both will be stronger 2nd half of the season).

Loads of twists and turns yet but enjoy being top, your guys have played very well.

fair shout. His main value is he makes the rest of the defence look more organised and solid IMO. certain it one of the first name on the team sheet. If he was out for any extended period, no doubt we'd be much easier to get at.

Can't disagree with any of that. Still remember Utd winning the first 10 league games in 1986 I think it was. They went on to finish 4th. Liverpool are prob the equivalent of that side now. Prob rightly second favourites along with Chelsea.

Utd showed at the weekend that it's just not quite happening for them.

Spurs lack of signings will prob bite them this season.

Arsenal still a bit of an unknown quantity but have goals in them for sure.

Season barely started so nothing much to get concerned about at either end of the table at this stage.

I've never been convinced on Matip. I think Lovren has always been ok and Gomez has a lot of potential. However those 3 don't look like defenders who lead a side to winning a league. VVD makes an enormous difference to all 3.

Lol the keeper threw the ball at a striker, an unstoppable bicycle kick and a poor speculative effort from 30 yards fumbled by the keeper. So cos VVD "wasn't seen for any of the goals" they're his fault and he's an average defender???!!

Surely you can provide better evidence of his failings?

Well yeah I could, I'm not just on about this one game, just that it was your biggest. Bale scored an overhead in the area, why was he not marking him? Nearly every goal you've conceded since he's been there has been the same.

I have a life so I'm not going to bother trying dishing all the vids out for you, you can do that yourself if you like.

But I just don't get the point in you being here. What do you want? Everton fans' glowing reports of your team? It's just weird. Is it because you finally get to divulge with knowledgeable football supporters because your lot is so thick?

When RS fans like to give me positive words about Everton I just ignore it because it means nothing given how unknowledgeable your fans are viewed by a lot of peers.

Don't rate Lovren and not convinced of Matip. Gomez has been excellent this season but is young and has positional issues. No VVD and we're much more vulnerable without question.

That’s so unlike you to infer something like that. Probably the only input you have on this thread to throw this accusation around on a daily basis. You’re very boring and extremely paranoid. Very strange little man.

Your sad, so sad. He's an evertonian on an Everton forum, if you're a red just come out and say it. If not, why would you get so riled up with a blue not liking the RS in a RS thread? It wouldn't happen would it. Why live a lie? It's the bloody Internet. None of us are going to ever meet you anyway. There's beautiful men and women out there in there in the real life, try and meet them.

Bale was on Lovrens side in the box. Central defenders are generally one left side and one right side. Blame Lovten if anyone but to blame VVD for any if those goals is either WUM OR plain wrong.

If I were a RS I would come out, as you say, I have no need to hide anything. I was merely remarking on someone posting on here whilst our game hadn’t even finished! You must admit that that is a little bit sad, no?
