True story though.

Social media plays a massive part in football now,all the big clubs use it and in turn that brings bigger revenues commercially as companies see the potential in being associated with a entity with a big social media presence and i can fully see why the RS brought him in with his background.

You cannot grow a turnover when the scope of your club doesn't reach internationally,we fully well have known that for years standing still and watched the sky 6 turnovesr dwarf ours.

Look at our pre season and how shambolic that was, playing some farmers and winning 20 odd -nil while the sky 6 are playing games against Europe's big names in massive stadiums in the USA/Asia/Australia growing fan bases, selling merchandise and in turn gaining fans internationally and growing social media presences.

A mythical stadium we are still waiting for isn't all of a sudden going to make us start winning trophies again like the mid 80's,a new stadium doesn't bring a extra £300 million pounds onto a turnover.
I agree with the sentiment in this post.

Have we ever been so far behind them on and off the pitch in the PL era?

They seem to be moving away from us alarmingly quick in both factors.

They are going to be the next English team to break the £500 million turnover barrier, building a new state of the art training ground and look to be expanding their ground to over 60k and just got permission last week from the local council to have non football events in their ground.

Even their CEO is on another level to ours, who was a top honcho at Microsoft who oversaw the first earlier Xbox and the potential of online gaming and his last job before going to the RS he was the boss of Electronic Arts Sports(Fifa,Madden,NBA Live, etc) and was also a earlier pioneer of online console gaming in the early 2000's and we have Baxendale who was at Sport England and Everton In The Community and that's about it.

You can clearly see why not only on the pitch are they light years ahead but off the pitch they are on another level as well.
So you're saying that they got someone in that appeals to people who sit in their ma's box room playing xbox all day whilst eating cheesey wotsits?

They beat us hands down in the murder stakes too. 39-0

Unless you're under 15, then of course you'll remember when we were utterly miles of them and not just the 4 places as we were in May.

Things don't look great at the moment, but I console myself with that whilst Everton won't be winning the league this season, neither will they
