ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Liverpool fans holding up a ‘Justice for Grenfell’ banner yesterday at Chelsea. They really can’t help themselves, can they? Thinking they’re some sort of political movement for the hard-left, all the while they’re raking in millions from tourists and decimating the area around Anfield.

Attention seeking bellends. How about going to the game to watch football and not trying to get your stupid banners on the tele to be praised.

Vintage virtue signalling by them. I bet half of their morons at The Bridge were nudging each other and saying on the lines of that irritating Derek advert that's on the telly every five minutes …..
" Grenfell...…..'oos 'ee ???? "

A draw would mean you;d gone unbeaten for 8 matches with 6 wins and still be behind City...in your best ever start.

That would be deflating. City are relentless and wont drop more than a handful of points. Liverpool aren't in that class. I dont think they're as good as Chelsea either - best XI v best XI.
On the other hand, at this point in time, we're 5 points better off than the corresponding fixtures than we were last season, having lost away to both Spurs & Chelsea.

So not all doom & gloom just yet.

The front 3 haven't been firing yet we're still finding goals and not conceding too many.

If the front 3 click, we could go on a decent run.

Before this week it was all about how. Chelsea have been getting lucky etc. they’re not title contenders, how Liverpool were going to make a statement. Chelsea then beat them at home after coming from behind and are denied another win by a worldie from Sturridge. 180 minutes against an apparently dodgy defence and two unbelievable goals from Sturridge is all they mustered. Any other fan group in that position would be seeing it as a reality check, maybe it won’t be the procession we thought it was. Liverpool fans somehow have taken it as conclusive proof that they’re better than Chelsea. Utterly bizarre. Hazard has shown in 2 games that Liverpool don’t have anyone in the world class bracket now that Salah has dropped a level.
I think that's right. But wait and see what happens if they fail to get three points against City next week. The army of moaners and bullets-in-the-post crowd will be out in force. They're waiting for mobilisation, and dropping 4/5 points in two games would see them venting.

It's all very precarious for them. City meanwhile will just keep turning the screw every week. And Chelsea wont lose too many either.

Well that's a nice summary of where Liverpool are and what they need to do to become champions: they need to transform ifs and could's into cast iron reality more or less each week. City dont deal in ifs and coulds...they just do.

Interesting one today.

They played quite poor, by comparison, yet had 4-5 chances to score, which they blew.

It'll be interesting to see how Salah gets on. Last season was a dream for him, but that injury has made him lose that half yard which made him basically unplayable. How will the others step up around him?

That said, they've played two of their rivals Spurs and Chelsea away, and took 4 points. That's a great return, against the rest, it's maximum points. That's title winning form. Will they go as far in the CL, i doubt it, will City be as strong? I hope so.

It does seem this season that games between the top six are easier to be the away team. Only Chelsea beating arsenal (where aubameyang had a stinker) has seen a home win, with yesterday's game the only draw all other games, arsenal v City, United v spurs, spurs v RS, RS v Chelsea have seen an away win so maybe having to still play all the other top six at anfield may not be a great thing for them, we'll see.

Behave soft lad. City have had De Bruyne out and a pee easy run of fixtures. You really need to stop the obsessing. The front three of ours have been very poor compared to last season. No complaints with the league position. The lack of a killer pass from midfield will cost us if the front three continue to be slack. The title is City's to throw away.
You're on a rivals forum trying to continually defend the rs. Irony lost on you?

I completely agree

Arsenal have won 5 on the spin sincelosing to City and Chelsea. They’re only 4 points behind the top, how are they out of the top 4 running? Their strikers will keep them there or thereabouts.
I don't think there record against the rest of the top 6 will be great
United and arsenal are the weakest of the top 6 this season
