ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Behave soft lad. City have had De Bruyne out and a pee easy run of fixtures. You really need to stop the obsessing. The front three of ours have been very poor compared to last season. No complaints with the league position. The lack of a killer pass from midfield will cost us if the front three continue to be slack. The title is City's to throw away.

He's not really obsessing is he when we are on the thread where we make it a bare minimum to take the absolute piss at every given opportunity so I don't think the soft lad dig really works.

Oh and City won't throw away the title but if you or Chelsea win it then it will be a deserved title.

Though you won't win it and you know this already.

Interesting one today.

They played quite poor, by comparison, yet had 4-5 chances to score, which they blew.

It'll be interesting to see how Salah gets on. Last season was a dream for him, but that injury has made him lose that half yard which made him basically unplayable. How will the others step up around him?

That said, they've played two of their rivals Spurs and Chelsea away, and took 4 points. That's a great return, against the rest, it's maximum points. That's title winning form. Will they go as far in the CL, i doubt it, will City be as strong? I hope so.

When Liverpool tried to get rid of Sturridge they knew exactly what his personal issues were, but still tried to destroy him in the media.
I hope the truth of that comes out sooner rather than later, because it will show what a despicable club they really are.
To think they had the hypocrisy to support rainbow laces.

'That injury' has made him lose half a yard of pace? What, a knock to his shoulder four months ago has slowed him right down?

Come off it. He didn't exactly get his leg broken at right angles or something. last I checked , even Liverpool hadn't inventing 'running on your shoulders'. But there's always time I suppose...

No, Salah has simply reverted to type, that's all. Why do people seem to have such a hard time with the notion that last season might be the exception and HIS ENTIRE PREVIOUS CAREER might be the rule?

The stars aligned, that's all. Lots of players have one off seasons which they never recapture again. Most of them strikers who sign for us, granted (Andy Johnson, Jelavic, you know the list).

The exceptuion is of course Yakubu, who had a golden period for exactly six games every time he signed to a new club, befoe reverting to an enormous cart horse just as the fans were beginning to believe in him. Every time. Honestly, he should have negotiated transfer fees in carrots and oats...

Well as you know any injury has a toll on your fitness. He was operating at 100%. He's just not at 100%, not yet, hopefully never again.

By all means, i take what you're saying, but that injury has knocked him off his stride. I'm not saying he runs with his shoulder, that's ridiculous, but he's not been able to get back to that level. Fluke or not, it's a shadow of the same player.

With City come to The Pit, it will be interesting if for a Premiership game if they decide to be morons again whether the FA will dock points because let's face it they can do anything in Europe and get a fine but I'd like to think to protect the "global brand" of the premiership, they couldn't go that rubbish again without proper rebuttal.

Cue City bus, trash and nothing happen

I remember 2 years ago, where they were in a great position. Chelsea did that nuts 13 game winning run. I remember Klopp saying at the time something like "Chelsea must be really annoyed that even though they've won all these games they are only 2-3 points ahead". Looking back what he was really saying was he was really angry, despite doing very well they went from being top to being 2nd. It did for them and they had that mad January where they went out of 3 competitions in about a week.

I do wonder if such pressure may come on them again, if they find themselves chasing. If City win (a big if granted) they will be behind 2 sides and Arsenal/Tottenham will be within a point of them. Given how shambolic their starts were meant to be(and that we know Spurs will get stronger as the season goes on) the pressure will certainly be amplified.

As I said, big game against City for me.
If City turn them over it's a dent in their confidence. As @Saint Domingo rightly says, 6 wins and a draw and you'd usually expect to be 3/4 points clear even now. If after next week they're actually 5 points behind they're going to think "WTF?!". And they'll have Salah in his usual form (ie the Chelsea/Roma Salah rather than that fluke last season) and they'll know they've spent a lot of cash on players like Keita who;s not up to it, and a cameo player like Shaqiri who may or may not turn up for a game.

They've proven to be a mood club since being at their best in the 80s. Going on winning streaks and hitting purple patches and now and again threatening to grab a title. I see this outfit as being no different, despite all the BS written about them. They'll flatter to deceive. Again.

Anything less than a win there for Liverpool next week and they'd have to see that as a serious downgrading of their title hopes. And if they do win it then they still have it all to do against clubs with recent pedigree of lifting titles...which is worth about 5/6 points in any season.

Salah wants out of there. You can see it. Something has defo happened. He's either a dodgy character with mental frailities around expectation (sounds like that to me given the BS coming out of Klopp about him not needing to replicate last season) or he's finding it hard to play without distraction from his diva outburst with the Egyptian FA, or he's had a whisper in his ear from the European Giants (he's bound to want into a club like Barca or Madrid).

Whatever the cause, his head has gone. All the meaningless stats about him not being far off the goals he scored last season at this stage cant mask the fact he's shot. His nerve and composure and confidence has gone. You dont get that back with a couple of goals against Fulham or whoever.

Stick a fork in him, he's done.

Liverpool fans holding up a ‘Justice for Grenfell’ banner yesterday at Chelsea. They really can’t help themselves, can they? Thinking they’re some sort of political movement for the hard-left, all the while they’re raking in millions from tourists and decimating the area around Anfield.

Attention seeking bellends. How about going to the game to watch football and not trying to get your stupid banners on the tele to be praised.

I thought it was vile myself. Scum bags
