ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Decent point for them today. They've had a great start but you can see some of the steam is starting to run out a bit.

I am not patting myself on the back but I predicted most of this. Predicted the quick start, winning most of the early games (in fairness they've won all). I then thought they'd struggle with the fixtures congestion. Looking a lot less sharp. What will be important is how long the dip lasts for and if it goes beyond a tough run of fixtures.

Finally I called that Salah wouldn't be as prolific. Again proven right thus far. He's reverting to type. I think Liverpool will badly miss his goals, especially without a 20+ league goals a season man.

I don't need to go into Keita much. The red on here telling us I'd be eating my words as by September he'd be the best player in the league. We are now at October and while he looks ok, he's a long long way off being Player of the year material.

It's a big mental test for them coming up. After such a good start, it will be hard for them be be chasing 1 or 2 teams by October. I remember Klopp's team struggled with that 2 years ago, that 13 game winning run for Chelsea killed them. Big game against City now.

If they get done by City next week - or even drop a couple of points - their season is going to start looking a lot less slick than it's been portrayed thus far.

City are usually terrible there, but strangely I fancy them.

I remember 2 years ago, where they were in a great position. Chelsea did that nuts 13 game winning run. I remember Klopp saying at the time something like "Chelsea must be really annoyed that even though they've won all these games they are only 2-3 points ahead". Looking back what he was really saying was he was really angry, despite doing very well they went from being top to being 2nd. It did for them and they had that mad January where they went out of 3 competitions in about a week.

I do wonder if such pressure may come on them again, if they find themselves chasing. If City win (a big if granted) they will be behind 2 sides and Arsenal/Tottenham will be within a point of them. Given how shambolic their starts were meant to be(and that we know Spurs will get stronger as the season goes on) the pressure will certainly be amplified.

As I said, big game against City for me.

They will have expected to be 5 or so ahead given the injuries to other teams and their form. The fact that they’re not even top will be worrying.

Behave soft lad. City have had De Bruyne out and a pee easy run of fixtures. You really need to stop the obsessing. The front three of ours have been very poor compared to last season. No complaints with the league position. The lack of a killer pass from midfield will cost us if the front three continue to be slack. The title is City's to throw away.

Getting touchy? Must be disappointing now you’ve realised no one is going to gift you the title. Come late Jan/Feb when City have ground out numerous wins and you’re a good few points behind you’ll realise that Klopp shouldn’t have thrown away the league cup.
