It's all down to sincerity and rationale.
Genuine support, empathy, and assistance, at a time of crisis is welcome.
Though of us who live with these (RS) people, realise only too well, what it was all about.
Self aggrandisement, and ersatz sentimentality.
If they ever play Linfield, expect to see banners offering symphony for the Titanic.
Your first sentence, you have a point, but no matter what, they do try to involve themselves in a lot of tragic events.I’m going to stick my neck on the line and make the outrageous claim that the scallies lobbing bottles at a coach probably aren’t the same people doing the grenfell thing... therefore making your post a false equivalency.
I think what’s more important is how people actually effected by grenfell feel about the banner and so far the only outrage I can see over it is coming from our fans... which isn’t exactly a good look is it.
A band who were big many years ago trying to cling on former glory and doing all they can to try and remain relevant....."Shat" Boy bands and the RS.
Both like very annoying STD's that don't know when to K'OFF!!!!!
A band who were big many years ago trying to cling on former glory and doing all they can to try and remain relevant.....
Where have we seen that behaviour before ??
Share your pain. Good reasoning for your post.I think we should shut this thread until we start looking like a football team again. I've lost my appetite for dissing the RS, because we are a joke.
They've got no chance with hm in charge. The Cliff Barnes of football. If I heard correctly this morning, everbody's favourite Teutonic Tit was hinting that their priority this season is the Premier League title.
Yes, Champions League glory has it's merits, but deep down he said that their fanbase wants the EPL title.
Nice to have that choice though!
I do know a couple of kopites who are survivors and one of them is a big support of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign - he played at the Hillsborough Justice Concert - but they tend not to tackily throw JFT96 around like a punctuation mark. The majority of them putting JFT96 all over every available surface couldn't give a toss about the Hillsborough victims either. They're just secretly delighted that it happened to their club so they can wallow in the 'righteous victims' spotlight. Things like this Grenfell absurdity just underline it. Those who lost someone (like someone I worked with at the time) don't want to make a song and dance, that I guarantee.
I truly do hope other fans apart from us have seen through the Grenfell thing, but I've not seen any evidence yet.
They actually get away with it, with the help of the toadying media, that's the worst thing.
Yep. Liverpool fans have done some pretty heinous things but IMO the banner isn't one of them.I know people have doubts over the motive but at the same time I don't think its that weird that a set of fans who spent years demanding justice for a cover up are doing something similar for another case which many people are worried is being swept under the rug.
I totally get the shouts of grief merchants etc but this case does at least have some parallels to Hillsborough in terms of how its being handled by government etc
