Liverpool v Spurs - 17 shots v 11, 10 on target v 3

Liverpool v PSG - 17 shots v 9, 7 on target v 5
You's lucked out on a Spurs team missing key players (including the captain) and a lethargic PSG team while you were full strength by beating them both by 1 goal, the narrowest margin of victory possible. But hey, you hit the ball into the goalkeeper arms a few more times so you must've "battered" them.

Using your logic from the PSG game, Napoli lucked out against a lethargic Liverpool beating them by 1 goal, the narrowest margin of victory possible.

Still not getting the battered part of the equation.

Spurs I didn't watch but 6 more shots may not tell the entire story. For all I know all the shots were from outside of the box and Spurs defended well to a certain tactic?

I watched the PSG game and would not say you battered them, you exploited the lack of effort from Neymar and got it wide to Alexander-Arnold a few times which made it look an easier game than it was. Plus if Draxler had finished their move late on they would have won the game without even trying.

Manchester City will use a different route to Anfield on Sunday following the violent scenes which greeted their team coach last season.
Merseyside Police have said they are determined to prevent a repeat of the trouble that occurred before the Champions League match between the two sides on 4 April.
At least one window was smashed on the journey through streets that were filled with thousands of fans, a number throwing flares and smoke bombs, and a replacement vehicle had to be found for the trip home.
It is understood City will approach Liverpool’s ground from a different direction to avoid passing the Arkles pub, a popular pre-match meeting point for Liverpool fans.
City have held talks with Merseyside Police about the measures which will be in place.
The 4.30pm kick-off is eagerly anticipated with City top of the Premier League and Liverpool second. Extra police will be on duty, it was announced on Wednesday.
Superintendent Dave Charnock said: “Everyone involved is working hard to ensure there is no repeat of the events that occurred outside Anfield before the Champions League fixture between the clubs in April.
“There will be additional officers on duty at the ground, both uniformed and plain clothed, and we will have a city centre policing plan in place.

Why have they publicised this? Why didn't they just use a different route and not say anything? Haven't they learned from last season?

Because they actually have no interest in preventing a similar situation. They had none in stopping the original incident either. The police knew in advance what sort of situation was likely, they made zero preventative measures in advance, they did nothing during (even allowing people to stand on police vans etc.) and did nothing after the event (no arrests whatsoever). They complicity approved of the whole event and looks like they will do the same this weekend. Man City now know that the protection the city of Manchester police give Liverpool whenever they visit is not afforded the other way round.
