I don't recall that lot resting players, but then again, we never pretended to be Man U rivals.
I recall Sam doing it because he was a good mate of the great SAF.
The ex players of Robson Bruce and Hughes never beat United AFAIK, They managed about 15 PL teams between and it's amazing their records against United between them when they were managers, McCarthy was the one who broke rules flagrantly and mentioned days before the aforementioned game that he would be resting all 10 outfield players for the trip to Old Trafford to save them for a 6 pointer against a relegation rival the following week.

My arl granny always used to say “self praise is no recommendation”.

This fellow here should mark her words

Liverpool are back where they belong among 'European royalty', says Peter Moore

Liverpool are back where they belong among "European royalty", according to chief executive Peter Moore.

The Reds reached the Champions League final for the first time in 11 years last season, losing 3-1 to Real Madrid.

They finished fourth in the Premier League last term to make it back into Europe's top competition and spent almost £170m on transfers this summer.

"We are a club used to winning silverware and that is the one piece we are focused on," said Moore.

And while she was at it, she would point out that winning one trophy in the past twelve years is hardly akin to being “used to winning silverware”.

They don’t half mouth off for a team that have won nothing. Not a shred of self awareness from top to bottom in that place. They had one fortuitous run in Europe and all of a sudden their CEO comes out with ‘no one wants us in Europe’ just a few weeks after they couldn’t register a shot on target in Naples. If ever the phrase ‘wind your neck in’ was apt for a club it’s them. They really should just learn to shut up before they’ve actually achieved anything.

I meant for the area in general, obviously sucks for thos that lost their homes but has the area been redeveloped at all or is it still pretty ghetto ?

Nothing mate. They left the area surrounding the ground to ruin, rows and rows of houses empty with the odd resident still living in the odd house here and there. They low balled residents with derisory offers to buy up the houses knowing in the end they would have to take the offer as no one else was gonna offer anything for them in the end.

Money grabbing gang of beauts with a gang of scruffy beauts who support them.

What they did to that area is as bad as anything they’ve done and let’s face it it’s not a short list .

100% mate and the fans should have kicked up a fuss about it if they were arsed (which they should have been but showed no support to the residents) . Those residents were lucky to get a couple of lines in the local paper once in a blue moon.

Its okay though mate, they've given the surrounding area more bins now on match days which helps the fans put their crates of ale on and no doubt they'll continue to do their pissing in the gardens because its so hard to wait until you get in the ground.

The Liverpool echo are complicit in this, no other business would be allowed to get away with that sort of disgusting behaviour, the locals have been let down badly.
