I genuinely feel sorry for him, mistakes can happen to anyone at anytime and he'd been relatively sound before that game. They just happened for him at totally the wrong time. I'm glad it happened though for obvious reasons, but I'd hate to be the scapegoat for the cult.

He's finished as a goalkeeper it looks like now as well.

He was cruelly left to walk alone by Liverpool fans and Klopp. Klopp essentially blamed his own failure on Ramos and Karius then threw out a few meaningless platitudes after the event about how he was there for Karius. The ‘fans’ absolutely slaughtered him such is their delusion that they would have blown away Real Madrid were it not for him.

A rational take on events could have been that they had just been outclassed and that Karius had actually made some decent saves to get them to that final. Maybe then he’d still have a career rather than being a broken figure in European football. I hope he goes back to the Bundesliga and rebuilds his confidence after the scandalous treatment he got from Liverpool.
