ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

Adrian Durham today on TalkSh*te announcing 'Spurs fans - if you beat City tonight you're effectively handing the title to Liverpool'

In October FFS!

Chelsea must wonder what the hell they have to do. Not to mention the fact that, if Spurs had won, they would have only been two points behind

It's as if they feel they have to parrot the 'two horse race' thing enough times and it'll come true, like Candyman appearing in a mirror...

A lot of pundits blew their load early proclaiming Liverpool as champions elect. They’re desperate for it to happen so that they’ll be seen as ‘popular’ in media circles, which is why you get some cringe worthy bells like Sutton and Jenas who didn’t even play for Liverpool absolutely gushing over them. It all equals more follows on twitter, or views on youtube, and therefore more cache with the tv companies who employ them. If you don’t play that game e.g Peter Reid Pat Nevin etc. then you find you’re not secured to cover big games, simple as that.

So they're not the top scorers, not the best conceders, don't have the best goal difference and aren't top. Musnt be the best at anything.

As I pointed out the other day: Klopp has seen the last 15 tournaments he's been involved in as a manager go by without taking one of them. That's not because he manages a midtable team; he's managed in that time two teams expected to win trophies. That's not a manager who would be considered now for any of the top jobs in the game that came up. It's an atrocious record and he and others who employ him will almost certainly realise that he's football's histroy man if he fails in the remaining three competitions he's in this season. That heaps even more pressure on Klopp. That WILL transfer to his players, who must also look over at City and think "we cant do any better than we are now, and we're still second". City will turn the screw again and again. They are in their pomp right now and Guardiola is relishing picking up trophies. Liverpool will crack very soon.

They’ve got the best front three in world football who don’t score as many as other teams’ forwards and don’t win any trophies but are the best in the world. No one knows what at but that’s what we’ve been told by the most knowledgeable pundits. Oh they also have the best keeper and best central defender in the world too. Apparently.

This season he seems to be instructing them to play conservatively v the lesser teams and conserving his gegen kick and rush for the big games. Whilst he’s got away with it somewhat in games they played poorly in at Huddersfield Palace and Leicester it’s backfired in the bigger games as City Chelsea and Napoli easily held off the best version of hard running they had to offer. Klopp would have seen Liverpool’s easy start, the City home game, De Bruyne’s injury, and City having three of the top 6 away and projected to be at least a few points ahead of them now. To be behind them even with all those things must be demoralising. They had to beat City at home at the very least. City have come away from the two grounds they fear the most without conceding a goal.

It'd be like Italian journalists a few seasons back telling the world that Napoli's attack of Higuain, Insigne, Mertens were the best in the world....and at least they won a trophy.

I think he's switched tactics because of the monumental balls up he made in the transfer window of paying out big for players who cant press. Keita has no pace, Shaqiri is a cameo role player, Fabinho essentially screens the back four.

There's no strength in depth. Add in the continued reliance of Sturridge and Lallana - neither of whom can press for periods longer than 5 seconds! - and you can see how he'd want to stand off more.

The feller's an idiot in the transfer market as far as this summer goes.

Claims coming out of Turkey suggest #Beskitas want to cancel the loan agreement with Loris Karius & return him to #Liverpool. The keeper signed a 2yr deal but 3 months in he's left them unimpressed after a series of mistakes. It's believed they want to swap him for Divock Origi.

I genuinely feel sorry for him, mistakes can happen to anyone at anytime and he'd been relatively sound before that game. They just happened for him at totally the wrong time. I'm glad it happened though for obvious reasons, but I'd hate to be the scapegoat for the cult.

He's finished as a goalkeeper it looks like now as well.
